Hi all

We need to monitor certain web pages for changes to text/links etc - does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm trialling one at the moment which is okay (from Aignes.com) but I can't get the settings right to email me when there are changes, and it only works when the program is open on my machine (obviously).

I guess we need one which is web-based, which can email as soon as changes are made.  Also needs to be able to run macros (for when certain pages need logins and searches done).

Any recommendations would be appreciated, ta.

Depends what you want to monitor specifically, we have used Watchmouse before, for monitoring if a page is "up" or if text that we expect to be on the page is suddenly not available. It's not free though and is more for proper site monitoring.

Thanks Peej.  We don't mind paying for software if it does the job.  What we're looking to do mostly is see if text has been added/removed from pages (external websites - Councils, Government information sites etc).  E.g. if new dates have been added to a list, or if paragraphs of text have been changed.  We don't need (although it might be helpful) the ability to follow links - we're generally just looking for changes to specific pages.

I'll have a look at Watchmouse and see if it'll help - thanks!
