Bike Talk / Motorcycles for Money
September 28, 2016, 01:28:23 PM
As the banks are paying no interest and shares, bonds and other lowish risk investments are paying back very little, I'm thinking about buying a bike as an interest and investment.  Occasional rides and pottering about in the garage.  I'm thinking SP-1 or 2, Ducati 999, early GSX-R.

Any thoughts, advise or experience?

Bike Talk / On the theiving scum issue...
January 07, 2016, 09:56:33 AM
We had an article in our local paper yesterday about a dozen teenage persistent car and bike thieves, one of which stole £0.5m of cars in one night, from the same guy and another that stole a Lambo amongst others, have totalled £136k in legal aid fee's!

Just shoot the little fuckers or the "cheeky little chappy" as they are referred to when one meets a sticky end on a stolen motorcycle.

"Despite curfew restrictions and detention periods these individuals persist" - well no shit Sherlock.

Bike Talk / A place for everything.

And I suggest that America is the place for Harley's.

They have been getting a hell of a slating here and now Alzo is away to stick needles in his eyes.

Well having just done nearly 3000 miles in 13 days I'd say the Electra Glide was the ideal tool for the roads over there. I got very caught up on the whole thing with so many other Harley's about. The Explorer seemed so revvy after the big V twin. Ok, so once the cruise control would not hold 75 up hill with a head wind and it took a tight wire and 3 gears lower to resume the cruising speed, but it got there.

Would I buy one, no. Did I enjoy it, hell yes. It's a motorcycle and it does what it says on the tin.

Ride easy y'all.

Bike Talk / Current Helmet Graphics
June 18, 2015, 02:50:36 PM
I'm in the market for a new lid and generally find that Shoei and Arai lids fit me well.

From the days of my original Wayne Rainey Shoei rep I've always enjoyed wearing helmets that are good quality, fit well but also look good.  Lets face it, anything that covers my bonce is an improvement.

Why is it that it is only the £600+ Arai and AGV's that have good design these days?  Shane Byrne rep (and maybe Bradley Smith but I can't wear a St George on me napper) aside, there are no decent reps.

Hats off to AGV for their K3 (I think) series, great graphics but the overall quality is not what I'm looking for.

What lids are you folks looking at currently?  I need insperation.

Thanks.

Bike Talk / "ICE" Helmet Stickers
July 25, 2013, 10:00:28 AM
Folks,

While targeted at the workplace, these Emergency details stickers can be used on crash helmets too.  I have about 15 or 20 of these, given to me from a colleague at one of our Gas Plants.

If you would like one then drop me a line with your address and I'll post them out but note, I'm away on holiday for a week so it may take a couple of weeks to get to you.

Cheers.

Morning,

Just thought I'd say hi.  Don't actually own a Kawasaki but heard you were a friendly bunch.

Currently have a Tiger 1050 and Scrambler.

Maybe catch up with some of you at some point.

Cheers,

Jarse
