Bike Talk / RC8 Test ride
May 25, 2015, 09:42:28 PM
Can I find one withing a reasonable distance to test ride from a dealer....not a forking chance!

At this rate Ill just buy a Blade or R1 for peice of mind as those are ten a penny to check out!

Nothing to add here just mild frustration on my part. :-(

With them having known injection and gearbox issues I really need to ride one to see how bad it is especially as I do ride most of the year and in the rain.

Howdy all

Someone I work with has a Honda Fireblade on an 07 plate he is considering selling on. Its an EU spec bike he had while in Oman but due to getting older he has barely ridden it. We are talking 600 miles here!

He's a decent chap so don't doubt the bike is legit but he is no mechanic. Bike has been stood for nearly 4 years collecting dust in his Garage.

I am sorely tempted as its a good price.

What should I look out for, guessing dodgy fuel and clogged injectors must be an obvious issue plus likely new battery but what else should I check?

Thanks Lewis

Bike Talk / KTM RC8
July 17, 2014, 10:19:50 PM
So I am no longer having to commute into work on the bike and am bored of the 636 even if it has been faultless for the last 2 years.

I have always had a soft spot for these KTMs and at 6ft 3 with the legs from a giraffe they have been one of the more comfy bikes I've sat on. I'm going to book a test ride but wanted to ask if anyone has owned one and what they thought?

Hi All

Alas the beast has to go, I need a vehicle for trips to France and mtbing and don't have the room for 2 cars :-(

I bought this car from a member on the MR2 Roadsters forum and the last 50k miles were covered by enthusiast from that forum.

This car is a brilliant drive, loads of fun and has been well looked after.

Car drives great just passed its MOT with no advisories, MOT'd until June 2nd 2015, tax till end of June 2014

Recently added are the HEL braided brake lines, freshDot 4 brake fluid full flush, new engine oil and filter at last 1000 miles, new both O2 sensors replaced in the last 10k.

Car drives as it should, engine pulls well uses no oil between changes and has had the pre-cats removed long ago. Roofs in great condition, its good to go.

I have advertised the car at £2300, Ninja Price £2100.

I'm also at Softtop Sunday this weekend at Goodwood if anyone is interested in seeing her in the flesh,

Thanks Lewis

Bike Talk / For those who want to watch MOTOGP
March 19, 2014, 03:07:07 PM
I have Virgin package but only a L package which didn't have BT Sport.

I just rung them and they have a deal for the Essential Family Package. I just paid an extra 1.50 per month got upgraded to the XL TV package which includes BT Sport and upgraded to 50mb broadband!

Well worth giving them a ring if you are already a Virgin customer.  :azn:

Misc For Sale / HTC Sensation Xl - Android phone
October 18, 2013, 03:56:12 PM
Just had my upgrade so the old phone is up for grabs.

I cracked the screen a couple of months back and had it repaired through my insurance so condition is spot on.

Its locked to Vodafone but like all phones easily unlocked. Been on Evil bay to check prices and looking for £120 Ninjas price including postage.

Will add pictures later but its essentially as you see on the net, also includes a spare battery, charger, box, instructions and covers

Thanks Lewis

So.....

Think next year may include a few more trackdays after I finally popped my trackday cherry at Snetterton.  :moto:

I had a great day but didnt push very hard as I was to worried about crashing the bike. Having a situation where that is less of a concern would certainly help matters.

Cant decide whether to buy a designated trackbike or get some track plastics for the next roadbike and buy a roadbike which isnt to bad to change over and back.

Decisions Decisions....wont be for a few months yet but all inputs welcome :-)

So doing an oil change and I have managed to lose the sump nut n washer :embarrassed:

Bike Talk / Storm Grip for Tank
September 02, 2013, 11:29:22 AM
Howdy all

Wanted to get people opinion on these, specifically as I am heading for my first track day next week.

My questions is.... I am interested as they will help brace against braking which is the appeal but do they get in the way when transferring across the bike. I tend to have quite a mobile riding style so move around a lot, apparenty according to a riding budy its like a giraffe riding a mini moto cheeky fucker. So what do people think?

Bike Talk / Trackday prep
August 15, 2013, 12:05:06 PM
Finally popping my trackday cherry iN September  :moto:

Its getting a service and new boots next week but anything else worth checking?

I am thinking of new brake pads and braided lines too as the brakes are the weakest point on the bike (2002 ZX6 A1P)

Much Love
