We have two large rooms available with lovely countryside and sea views. There is a large bathroom with slipper bath and luxurious shower together with a pleasant dining room, conservatory and television lounge. All prices include a full English breakfast. All prices stated are per person per night.

So I started reading that as "There is a large bathroom with slippers". I was sold on the slippers!

Bike Talk / Re: Having issues getting insured!
November 07, 2014, 03:59:37 PM
Oh my days, the saga continues!

I went through the process of buying the policy, got to the end of the online form and it said I needed to contact them/they would contact me to confirm all the details. I called them, went through all the details, including the part where they said "It's garaged at home" No, I said, it's away from home. Anyway, long story short, he checked and said that would be fine.

I said I currently did not have a valid CBT and the bike would not be ridden by myself this year, I just wanted it insured just in case it went walkies and also to earn more no claims.  He said that's fine, and I would be contacted by a legal person to run through the payment and arrange sending out the documents.

Another three calls from the sales team later, with me telling them all that I had done this part and was waiting for someone in the LEGAL team, not SALES, and I finally spoke to someone from legal. Went through the details again, and again he said "garaged at home", nooooooo, I wail. Anyway, that was corrected and was all fine. He sent the details onto the insurance peeps (they are just a broker at the end of the day) and came back saying they had an issue with my lack of licence. Usually they will only issue a policy if my plan is to take my CBT within 30 days of the start of the policy, something which I have no plans to do.

He said the only other option was to try and take out a laid up policy so he would put all the details through like that and let me know if they would agree to cover me. In short, they won't. They won't give me a laid up policy and they won't insure me unless I do another CBT, which for £100 is basically a waste of money when the bike is not going to be used for a long while.

I don't want to sell it as I love it and we got it for a very good price so have not lost anything on it, I just want him insured so he's covered just in case, but by trying to give all the correct details, it looks like this isn't going to be possible!

I can see why some people don't bother with insurance when they make it so frigging hard!

Grr!

Performance Direct seems to be ok, I could put both addresses in their form. Just waiting for them to call me back to confirm everything then I should be sorted :)

They want to give me a £1,450 excess! A little excessive I think!

Bike Talk / Having issues getting insured!

Mini-bike doesn't live with me at the moment, but I'm having trouble putting in a different address for insurance quotes. The few companies which ask about where it's stored overnight then say on their terms that the quote is based on "the bike staying overnight at your home address".

Anyone know companies which are happy to insure the bike away from home? I've only been doing online quotes, so it will be nice to have a small list of people I know will do this and I'll get on the phone to them.

Thanks  :cheesy:

Thanks ever so.

Just checked with them and they will use their laptop for what they potentially wanted this for, so in the words of the dragons, I'm out.

Awwww, I could buy it then Dave and I would be his n hers!!

Sorry for the hijack....anyone who buys this has a very good car. The engine gives a decent amount of performance, I've already said to Iain that the 130 engine FEELS much quicker than my tuned 110 even though in theory the 110 SHOULD be slightly more powerful now.
