Title: New Battery
Post by: Dom1 on April 26, 2015, 05:58:47 PM
This is going to sound pathetic but I ave just got a new battery for the DR which has come with acid for me to add.

Always had sealed batteries before so this is new to me and the instructions are sparse.

They mention something about opening a degassing valve before adding the acid. I have not a Scooby what that means.

Sure it is simpe but can anyone offer some guidance.

Google is probably your friend

https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=adding%20acid%20to%20battery%20when%20new

can't be more specific without knowing make and model of battery

Pop kids off
Add acid
Let it fizz for a bit (this won't happen, but it does give off a bit of gas from memory)
Refit lids
Fit battery and forget about it until next time you run out of electricity

First video was the winner.

Good job you lot are here, I would have been picking the lids off otherwise.
