Shit news Lewis, real shit.

That was one of a few reasons why I stopped riding on the roads, especially after being directly behind Dom when he did nothing wrong.

Where abouts was it ?

Going on what you have written there, I'd say it's a coil pack failing.

I got mine from the Bensons (anyone remember them ?)

As for what I did with it....erm...I rode it, crashed it, rode it, crashed it, rode it, tracked it, rode it, etc

Fitted braided lines, a couple of different end cans, and let Zenodamper use it as his development bike in exchange for a complete strip and custom rebuild of both the forks and shock.

Oh, and ran it with the Bic livery

If you need help and things sorting properly, you know where I am, I'm pretty good with brakes.

Great spec'd bike, and a username I remember from the good old days.

I was in the same position last year with my trackbike (CBR600RR) that I had built up at great expense to me.  The bike had pretty much everything that made it go, stop, handle and look better.  When I made the decision to quit trackdays it had to go.  So I lumped all the spares and original parts alongside the bike and tried to sell for what I thought was a great price.  All I had (across many forums etc) was overpriced and theres one much cheaper (but lesser spec'd).

Anyway, after many many months of advertising the bike I took the hard decision to break it and restore it to original spec and try to sell everything separately.

I sold pretty much everything within 3 weeks from the 1st adverts going live, and got more money from it than the asking price of the complete package.  I still have a few odd bits left to sell, and i'll re advertise them in the spring.

Anyway, good luck with your sale.

I had a mint 05 in blue for a number of years, only sold it as I wasn't road riding anymore.

To me it's the perfect sportsbike for the road.  It's got more room than most in class, so it's easy to get comfortable.  Really strong engine and gearbox, although the engine lacks 'character' but is smooth and very quick to rev, but doesn't spike like the early carb'd bikes did.  Brakes are awesome.

The bike I bought was so good that the only thing I did to it, from a completely standard base, was to swap out the 2 end cans for something a little noiser for more presence, only other thing I ended up doing was a seat cowl and removing the rear pegs which cleaned up the lines on the back.

Fitted Michelin Road 2s when the OE Dunlops wore out,  and they lasted well, gripped great and made me a lot more confident on the bike.

The bike was pretty good on fuel with around 140 mile range, even when frapping it.

My bikes have always lived outstide and under a cover, and the R1 survived 5 winters without furring up at all, that's 5 more than Kwak or Zuki, even better than Honda.

If I was going to get another sportsbike for road use, then I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

Misc For Sale / Samsung 37" HD LCD TV

Samsung 37" full HD LCD TV for sale

About 4 years old and in superb condition, with no faults or dead pixels etc.

Full 1080p HD screen, HDMI & USB ports, remote control and power lead (and instructions if they can be located)

It's now excess to requirements and getting in the way and at risk of being damaged.

Somewhere close to £100 would make me happy

If you need help or need to order parts etc, then have a chat with Dan at BikeMoto in Hilsea.  He's a Honda 'master mechanic' and knows Hondas inside out (I got him to do a few bits on the RR).  He also done a few seasons clubman racing too, and is dead keen to chew the fat on all things bike.

A proper little independant place who also do MOTs too.

Once the bike is running, there is no drain on the battery (unless the reg/rec is knackered), so running the satnav will have no effect on it.  Leaving it running whilst the bike is off WILL drain the battery though.

Just learn to bump start it, you won't get stuck anywhere.

I've had to read your first post 3 times to try to make sense of it.  The hardest part if trying to guess what your intending to say, but grammatically failing.

Anyway....

Just what is the issue you're having ??
