Ah, Flymo.  A cut above the rest. ;)

I've had a response from Feridax after contacting Shoei.  The bloke said that providing my lid hasn't been dropped or crashed, it should still be fine.  As the lid is a bit loose, he has suggested I look at getting the fit sorted (new pads, probably), but I shouldn't need a new one. :)

Newbie Corner / Well, hello there. ;)

Well, as I hadn't been on the site for a while, this seems a prudent place to update:

Our little boy was born in September last year, whilst we were still living in our 1 bed house in St Albans.  We weren't able to move because we had no significant savings and our equity, whilst still positive, wasn't anywhere near what we needed.

We then had a chat with Persimmon Homes, who was building a site in a little village called Stotfold, not far from Letchworth (see: The World's End), about 1/2 hour up the A1.

One part exchange and Government-backed 95% New Buy scheme later, we're now living in a 4 bed detached in Stotfold, which has a nice sized detached garage with power and light. :)  Bike insurance went down as a result of moving, but only but about £20, which was swallowed up by the "admin fee".

We've been in the new place around 8 months now and it's all very nice! :)  Local visitors always welcome and there's the lovely A507 running right past our estate.  In the evenings, with the windows open, you can hear bikes blatting up and down it - it's lovely! :)

That was the reason I chose a ZXR400 as my first bike.

Same. the zxr400 wasn't my first bike, but I still had one. Picking up my zx7r was one of the happiest days of my life haha

...still got it

Yanagawa was in WSB when I passed my test and started following racing. :)

Expect nothing from these heartless fuckers.

Unless you're blond

;-)

Regardless of gender? ;)

Quote from: ash on July 17, 2013, 03:57:08 PMHow about a trip to Swindon....you won't have to pay bike show entry either  http://www.motorcycle-superstore.co.uk/

And we were only in Chippenham / Bath at the weekend!

I've got a HJC shaped one, and really do rate them after owning 2, and seeing my mate crashing in one

I've had a couple of HJCs in the past, Ash (a green one when I had my Kwak and a Spider-Man one when I had my first CBR), but they didn't really work for me.

Why can't there be a bike show right about now? ;)

What about a reduced XR1100?  I saw a Tommy Hill rep like mine for under £300 the other day.

How far under? ;)

Bloody hell, that long ago.  Cracking lid, can see why you have held on to it.

You will miss the quality of it going for a £200 lid.

I suspect as much, but no way I can stretch to the X-Spirit money again now there's a hefty mortgage and little'un running crawling shuffling around!

And I'm hoping it'll be a birthday present: the missus winced at £200, so doubt she can afford more either. :(

What is the budget ?

As little as possible! ;)  I've been looking at the one which Gayle bought, which is around £200.
