Bikes For Sale / VFR800 FiX - sold
March 25, 2022, 11:22:38 AM
I've decided to sell my vfr, it's been laid up for just over a year and with work at the moment I'm not likely to get a chance to ride it this year.

It's got approx 65k on the clocks and on a SORN at present.

Good point:
Had valves and timing done at 60k
Decent tyres
Recent chain and front sprocket.
Spare new rear sprocket.
Spare brake rebuild kit.

Bad points:
Crack in RHS front fairing
RHS indicator needs recounting (think I didn't put it back quite right)
2 tears in seat
Marks down RHS from previous owner dropping it in their garage.

I'd like £800 for it however these usually go for over £1k and I'd like a quick sale.

Bike Talk / Today at work.....
October 10, 2019, 10:58:11 AM
It was s pretty normal morning, answering emails and chasing people for some paperwork... until I got called down to the stores, why was I called down to the stores... idiot #3 challenged  idiot #2 to lick a battery.... not the small 9v battery with the terminals at the top no...
It's a 14v 0.5amp battery, and now he cant feel his tongue.

Idiot #4 however has outdone himself. Properly outdone himself.

He has been with his girlfriend for 6 months, and has decided to show his affection for her.
Did he buy her flowers, no
Has he bought her jewellery or a holiday, no.

He's had her name tattooed on his c**k...

Anyone got any jobs going? Think I need a new one.

Bike Talk / Importing a bike from Japan
October 07, 2018, 10:02:21 AM
I've been looking at starting 50cc racing next year and slowly getting everything together to help keep costs down.

As of yet I still haven't managed to get my hands on a bike but noticed a large number of cheap bikes in Japan

Has anyone in here imported a bike before? As it's looking to be cheaper for me to get one from Japan than the UK with some of the silly prices being asked.

Wanted / Project bike bits
October 01, 2017, 06:52:48 PM
I'm in the process of turning a cd200 into a track bike and I'm currently missing some bits. I'm not after model specific parts I'm looking for bits that people have lying around that I could buy to use on the project.

Bike Talk / Bike reviews
July 07, 2017, 06:34:20 PM
I saw a post on Facebook earlier this week asking where prior go to find reviews of different types of bikes, and the got me thinking.

Considering that some media are known to be biased toward one or more manufacturers, and that others have been known to ignore certain facts, where do you guys go for info on your next purchase?

May 20, 2017, 05:12:18 PM
Does anyone have any parts available, been looking on eBay and some people seem to have a rather inflated idea of how much some parts are worth.

Bike Talk / exhaust, repair or replace?
January 26, 2015, 12:33:11 PM
I went to start the bike this morning and noticed a small hole in the end can, now this being a 90's honda,  ive has the joys of trying to weld a repair patch before and that only seemed to delay the inevitable.

So does anyone know of any reasonably priced slip ons for this bike and who I can get one from?

Bike Talk / new bikes....
November 05, 2014, 01:22:59 AM
So let me get this straight.

Honda and Yamaha have gone for 'moto gp' for the road.

Suzuki is.... well being Suzuki.

Triumph has released more of the same.

Ducati have kept the same bike but made the engine bigger again.

Aprilia and mv augusta are going for the 'new school muscle'

And kawasaki have just gone mental again.

Bike Talk / my SV650.....
October 25, 2014, 01:37:10 PM
The original intent was to turn it into a bit of a project .

However.

To cut a long story short the company who had previously looked after it hadn't been using parts of a good enough quality,  and as such a few problems with the brakes and suspension came to light, that would have meant repairs costing me more than the bike was worth.

So now it's owned by the guys at jhs racing.

And as for me, well I'm now riding a xlr250, and I can honestly say I've not had this much of a giggle in a long time.

This has been used one by me before getting cleaned and put back away.

I'll get some pictures up later.

Looking forward around £40 plus postage.

Open to sensible offers as per usual.

Bike Talk / been set a challenge....
July 10, 2014, 09:13:26 PM
Right long story short,  I've been set the challenge of changing my bike without incurring any additional cost.

Ie, I sell my bike for 2.5k, and buy another one and insure it for that amount.

So,  whats a midly scuffed 09 plate sv650 worth....

Bike Talk / Honda Dylan question
July 07, 2014, 09:45:46 PM
I've been asked by my mother in law to have a look at her scooter, now the speedo drive has stopped working and ive agreed to have a closer look at the weekend.

Is there anything that I should know about or look for on these bike or Is it pretty much a standard speedo drive?

Bike Talk / a question about confidence on bikes
June 12, 2014, 10:24:12 AM
Something I've noticed when I'm riding is that  during corners I just can't seem to lean much,  a bit like a mental block.

Has anyone had this and what did you do to over come it?
