tomorrow, the zed wull be winterized with Koso heated grips

not quite as smart as the diavel's Koso grips...  but substantially cheaper at £38

Electrical / zxr digi dash
August 22, 2020, 03:56:42 PM
so my £50 chinesium digital dash is fitted to the ZXR

quite an easy install... same plug on dash as that on the bike won just a change of pin locations to make it a reversible fit

ABS sensor on front wheel for speed sensing
3D printed mount to hold it in position

no gear indication sadly as the gearbox plug required is too big for the Zed
no fuel gauge as the bike doesn't have one

otherwise, I'm more than happy with it

Suspension / bluddy Kawasaki suspension settings
June 22, 2020, 10:20:54 AM
playing with the suspenders on the Zed:
oem front end...
minimum.preload,
minimum rebound
(no compression)

hyperpro rear shock....
can't access preload (and theres a lot of it)
minimum rebound
no compression

result?
hard as nails on anything abrupt....handles smaller lumps, bumps and holes not too bad

...but WAY too much compression damping

apart from the glorious C1, did Kawasaki EVER produce a bikes with acceptable standard suspension?

Bike Talk / my new (old) ninja
June 17, 2020, 07:10:05 PM
well, I took the plunge and bought a bike I've lusted after since 1990

it's a slightly later 1992 J model ZXR750
....and despite having a slightly confusing history, I think she's gorgeous

needs some.work as the info LCD screen is missing and I don't see the 'modes' switch... or even a fuel gauge or clock

but we'll get there <img>

Scottish Memorial Rideout / 2019
April 28, 2019, 06:49:43 AM
Morning
Epic day yesterday for the memorial... a LOT of weather,  not so many bikes this year, sadly - fewer making the oban loop than started out from Stirling due to the abominable weather,  and unfortunately one fewer completing the ride ( tho rider is ok, I believe, bike is not so much)
Shame Grumpy couldn't make it.... a big miss
Good to see all your happy smiling faces x
