well it starts the bike not surprising with nearly 3 times the starting power , also managed to start a 2.0 car which I found surprising (FROM COLD!!)

I now have no doubts its getting more power it , it sounded like it had more if that makes sense

however the starter problem persists I push the button and the starter (or the sound that you here before it starts) goes for about half a second and stops(even if my hand is on the button) it takes me pushes of the button and then it fires up , what I want to know is whats causing this? I was hoping it was just lack of power but alas not...

Could be dirty contacts in the starter button itself or the starter relay.

ill take the starter button apart and have a look see , it looks extremely clean from the outside if I'm honest ,

do you think a video of exactly what it does would very diagnosis?

I dont have to pull the clutch in to start it if that's what you mean?

For the love of God, please no!

Could be a whole list of things

Side stand switch, clutch switch, starter clutch, solenoid (if it has one), dodgy Earth, dodgy live, dodgy starter, bad contacts... The list goes on...
