Test rode one and was disappointed.

Epic track and race bike - dogshit on the road.  Zero torque.  Get her spinning and she's awesome. On a public road, get her spinning, get caught and your licence is gone...

Yeah did read it came alive at 8000rpm....another kick at 10000rpm and then hyper drive to the redline.

At 6K my '11 had 81ftlb ... at 11k it had 90 ftlb all teh way to 14K, almost entirely flat curve... A "midrange" still rarely bettered despite what the journo's would like you to believe. The thing that people fail to remember is that Mid Range is 7K RPM+

It also held > 180bhp from 10K to 14K redline, touching 203bhp at 13.7K.  Thats a superstocker with filter, system and fuelling. On the same day my significantly more expensive APRC failed to make 175bhp ...

It also worked racking up 5K miles at race pace between refreshes and lost just 10bhp in the process.  Parts from K are available next day in every time I've bought stuff from Kawasaki (including some odd shit I needed/wanted as spares)

It certainly didn't feel that torquey to me and for road riding it was useless.

All that power is fine but how much of that gets castrated by the electronics on the road?

Edited to add:  What the fuck!  £13K!

None unless your a gibbon with the throttle...  they dont stop you using the power, they stop you using more than there is traction for.

Looks wise it has grown on me...just mulling over options in the cold windy winter nights. :-)

I totally agree Alzo. It looks awesome. Really wanted one to replace the S1000RR but as most (well, all) of my riding is on the road the test ride was really disappointing.

It's a race and track masterclass - no good for the road if you really want to use it properly.
