Title: '08 6R coolant flange
Post by: Ant on February 19, 2014, 10:31:38 PM
Flange, oo eeerr mrs.

In the photo, there's a coolant flange, I want to possibly remove it to release the rest of the coolant from the engine before removing the engine. Shall I remove this and let it all out or is there a better way? What's under this, a stat? Or just an entry into the engine coolant veins? Thanks.

Is the water pump and I'm guessing that one of the lower two bolts is a drain bolt... assuming they've not gone radically different in the newer stuff.

I'll guess at the one on the right of the two... or left ;-)

Thanks Dave, I'll give one of those a go and see if it's the drain.
