Hello,
We're off on a trip to France at the end of May and we want to transport 3 sports bikes down to the alps / pyrenese. We have a camper to tow with and we have looked at hiring trailers. Unfortunately we can only find places that do 2 bike trailers (most o the 3 bike trailers only carry 3 enduros).
Any wise ideas? Or anyone know of places that hire a 3 sports bike trailer?
We have a flatbed trailer which is for a mini-digger which we have looked at strapping the bikes down to using a variety of scaffolding poles etc but we're a little dubious about whether it'll all work out.
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.
G
Put one in the camper.
You're welcome.

ohhhhh fuck......
..... I've just realized how my 'helpful' advice sounds to my mates.....
.....we're both cunts!
Not sure if any "3 bike trailers" will carry 3 sports bikes - I've got an ERDE 751 which is bigger than most I see yet it will only take 2 sports bikes.
Cant you just hire a normal trailer instead? Something like a small plant trailer or similar?

Hire a two bike trailer and take it in turns to ride the non-trailered bike down in convoy.

Hahaha.... well that was my suggestion (see comment to Dom)...
The box trailer idea and that one are the front runners at the moment. We are just struggling to find a box trailer that will fit the bikes + have sufficient eyelets to tie down the bikes (and ideally 750kg gross so I can collect on my mickey mouse driving license)..... tricky!

I'm coming to that conclusion..... the problem is that if that proves to be the solution I fear the group will just get their quims out, we'll cancel the trailer plan and we'll end up staying in Northern France.... which IMO is a poor second choice to a mountain based roam!
Get some better friends then (maybe less ghey ones).....

Anyone want to come to the France at the end of next month? We've got a trailer for the bikes but they'll be laid down flat... it's that or ride the fuckers.... gheys need not apply!

Can you fix three Bike Grabs (http://www.on-bike.com/products_bikegrab) onto the flatbed?
Why not ride the bikes ?
My horsebox trailer carries 2 bikes comfortably (may possibly squeeze a 3rd in. The downside is it is 900kg empty, and you really need a big fcuk off thirsty car to tow it with (like my 4x4)

Not a bad idea at all senior! I have pitched it to the crowd.... although we think we have found a trailer that will take three bikes (but we'll have to buy the bugger). The bloke selling it has a picture of the trailer with 2 Ducati's and an R1 (I think) on it and he seems pretty confident it's ok.
as a back up we have at least three people (myself included) who are willing to do a stint on the bike if we are riding overnight down to the Pyranese. I am looking forward to the trip but I am also one of only 2 people insured to drive the Caterham so it looks like a long and very uncomfortable night ahead for me!!

If all the bikes are being ridden we may as well stay up north. Trying to get the three bikes down to the Pyrenees in one go will be murder, will realistically take 4 days off our holiday and will cost a bomb in fuel and tolls. We've done the ride down to that South of France before and everyone got the arse with it in the end.... it's no fun on a sports bike!
Pretty sure the France trip boys - Big Gay Al, Superkev, Little J and the others do the run to the Pyrenees in a day on sportsbikes
It is about a 600 mile day but they are clearly real men.

I was pretty sure Gav had done the same.... agree on the real man comment but we have done it, we just don't want to do it again, it's not worth it if it means riding all the way down there.
