Title: carb cleaning fuel additive
Post by: Pandamonium on September 25, 2014, 10:19:00 PM
Looking for an additive to clean the carbs, bike has sat for a time before I got my mits on it and there is somewhat of a hesitation between 5 and 6k. So who recommends what? Also, super unleaded, worth adding it in the zx7r? Always had v-twins before.
Cheers

I'd start with getting the plugs out and giving them a once over. Could pop some redex (non FI version) in the tank and run it through for fuel system cleaning

Plugs will be coming out over winter anyway, hopefully along with new air filter.
Had forgotten about redex, good call

if you wanna clean the carbs the only real option is to take them off, clean the jets/needles/floats and reassemble..

That is a future winter plan too, just want to give it a run through

you'd be better off pishing in the tank than putting redex in. no one ... and i mean no one worth their salt in the trade uses it.
