Title: VW Caddy Maxi
Post by: 0luke0 on December 01, 2014, 12:28:35 PM
Does anyone know if you can get 2 bikes in a VW Caddy Maxi?

Am looking to get one for TDs/racing next year.

Cheers

Nice vans, if folks have managed 2 in an Espace Its likely they will go in a Caddy Maxi. Problem is with 2 bikes in there will likely be no room for fuel cans, spare wheels, kit bags, tools etc. Not sure what sort of weight those things can carry either.

I used to put 2 bikes in a SWB Vito and by the time we had two lots of kit in even it was pretty well crammed in. I would have a Caddy Maxi if I wanted to use it as my daily driver and take just one bike and kit but not sure about two. Hopefully someone on here knows someone who has run one with two in to confirm if it can work.

2 bikes and associated kit (wheels, paddock stands, toolbox, chairs, ramp, kit bag for leathers & Lids) is pretty snug in a SWB trafic. you need to be pretty careful how you pack it all in.

with something smaller its gonna be even trickier unless you only take 1 set of all your tools and ram in the spaces between the bikes with other kit.

It will mainly be 1 bike plus kit but on the odd track day there maybe 2 bikes.

Going to try and test one this week.

cheers for the help, and banter!  ;)

a roof rack may be a worthwhile investment then!
