Title: 2002 Honda CBR600 F4i Track Bike
Post by: Dom1 on January 04, 2015, 07:34:15 PM
With a heavy heart the time has come to part with my track bike to fund a recent purchase, as most will know I would rather write my bikes off than face selling them on.  :(

Anyway, here she is....

2002 Honda CBR 600 F4i - F Sport. Forum bike bought new by Kav for those with a long memory, who crashed it then bought it back from the insurance company, sold to Stu Lee who turned it into the fine specimen seen before you, except the paint which is all my own work based on the 1984 Freddie Spencer paint scheme.

Akrapovic full exhaust system.

Power Commander PC 3.

Maxton rear shock.

Maxton fork internals.

EBC Pro-Lite discs and Goodridge braided steel hoses to the front.

Harris rearsets.

Sprint steering damper.

CRG levers.

Harris exhaust hanger.

520 chain conversion.

Honda Blackbird clip-ons mounted below the top yoke with Renthal grips.

Very recent EBC HH brake pads on the front.

Metzeler Sportec M5 tyres, still with plenty of life.

Stompgrip tank pads.

Crash bungs to both sides and RG crash bungs to front spindle.

More photos....

V5 present but a Cat B write off so cannot go back on the road.

Very reliable, very capable track tool for not much money really.

Will include a selection of spares including - Engine covers, spare clip-ons, spare levers, spare throttle, sprockets and a couple of manuals (Haynes and Honda).

£1900.

Spare wheels and discs with wets as shown in the first picture are available for an additional £100. The wets have been fine for me but are showing signs of wear, particularly to the front.

Bike is in Bournemouth but can be delivered within 100 mile radius for a fee.

Right chaps, need this bike away now due to cash flow.

So I am reducing the asking price to £1500.00 with the wets on wheels delivered as far north as the M4 or Fleet services on the M3.

This is a properly sorted track bike, not just a road bike in tatty plastics, with a good selection of spares and wets on wheels.

More pics and video to follow.

Cold start video....

http://vidmg.photobucket.com/albums/v319/dom1/IMG_1117.mp4 (http://vidmg.photobucket.com/albums/v319/dom1/IMG_1117.mp4)

In terms of spares, I have two engine covers, a selection of Renthal sprockets (I have gone down to 15t on the front for a bit more punch out of the corners), two sets of clip ons plus the original bars (I did spend a bit of time finding a set up that I was comfortable with, I prefer a bit of a wider stance than the standard CBR bars), two sets of brake pads (one is carbon, the other came with the bike and I have never used), the carbon ones are great once they are warm but a bit harsh for me so I fitted EBC HH pads only two trackdays ago which are plenty powerful enough lifting the rear wheel into Goddards, spare throttle, spare cables, spare crash bungs and brake/clutch levers. I also have the Haynes and Honda manuals plus another one on disc and the V5 as shown.

There are three keys with the bike - two originals that are cut and coded and one spare which can be cut and coded by a Honda dealer if you take the other original key in with it.

I change the oil and filter every second trackday (good quality semi-synthetic oil, currently Motul), I fitted a new Tsubaki chain not long after I got the bike, new brake seals all round and a new Motobatt battery. The brakes get stripped/cleaned/new fluid every winter. The bike has been very reliable, the only failure I have had was the water pump at Snetterton, I sourced a replacement off ebay for £40 and never had a problem since. That is one good thing with CBR's, lots of spares availability.

I have fixed charging leads so it is easy to put on the trickle charger when you are not using the bike. Also the body work is on quick release fixings. I have changed any bolts not on quick release to the same size allen key for ease.

Yeah they go a bit mental..... hit shit with hammers, throw stuff and generally kick off a bit.....

just make sure that for a couple of days, where she is, you're not..... and things will cool down. Ideal that you'll have something in the garage to tinker with really!!!

Make sure you have brew facilities, food, clothing and bedding.
