They claim it will bring between 4 & 6 k of permanent jobs to the region and the place is a wilderness with so many social problems ATM.  Some great looking corners on that mockup anyhow :)

I really hope it does, 4 to 6K permanent jobs I can't see, it may be a wilderness at the moment but if it takes off folk will want to live nearer etc etc  not that I'm a pessimist at all

I have already checked and it is about as far awayas Donny which makes it do-able and closer than Llandow.

Welsh-Fests could be fuggin epic with that.

Well it is 70 miles from me down the M50 from Cheltenham, so about the same as Mallory, but it is motorway and Dual carriageway pretty much all the way in that direction now with the ehads of the valley road upgrade. The upside is that the roads are generally quieter than around the Brum way

I would imagine it will create favourable conditions for motorsport co's to relocate to the area...my uncle lived in Cwmbran, and set up a cooked meat factory there back in the early 80's....they gave him some good grants which helped enormously with stting up the business in its unit...I think there is a lot of opportunities in south wales, and could see some F1 co's from the Oxford area looking hard at it for testing purposes/margins etc

Also got Busters-accessories and M&P less than 40 mies down the road, so could see them showing an interest in getting an on site shop there as well.

Won't happen - not enough cash and motorsport investment ain't very high on many agendas.

Look at Donny.....

Yer, but this could get built with a Euro or gov grant....political will and all that...especially with the risk of Wales chasing Scotland to the exit of the union

It would be brilliant for all sorts of reasons (including me having a decent track < 30mins away), but as Moz says it wont happen.

It's only been called in for consideration by a higher power; that was always going to happen with something like this of national / regional importance. Find it very unlikely the Welsh Assembly will overturn the decision.

That said, whether the money can be raised is a very different matter!

On a slightly different track (fnar) I wonder what will happen to the likes of pembrey and llandow if this gets built. Last I heard llandow was being turned into flats / housing. But pembrey is actively used for track days, formula ford testing and other things. I'd imagine that they'd close and move to the new track (could take a while though)

If  they can afford to bankroll free uni places, then I don't see why not...why educate people to a high degree if there is no prospects for them when they finish...this will bring in high tech jobs to the area.

As much as I'd love a track of this calibre 20 miles from home, I just can't see it happening even if dorna have signed a bit of paper. Would do that area of Wales the world of good jobs and tourism wise mind and that might be its saving grace

did i read somewhere that they've paid dorna €50m for the 5 yr contract?

Things may change after Scotlands vote, but this is a high profile way of buying votes in the Valleys...they will find the money....

Bit early. I've seen pictures of a muddy field and some diggers. Not a multi million pound MotoGP circuit.

I seem to remember the same thing at Donny.

I can't see how having an opinion is "wrong".

erm..... if it proves to be wrong.....

so if you are of the opinion that Chelsea will win the league.... and they don't..... you were wrong.

doubtless, if your opinion turns out to be right..... you'll be back on here spouting off about it in pure Moz style.

Good luck.

Anyhoo, Adam and Eve didn't have bellybuttons.
