Right long story short, my bike needs the gear box and gear lever to be looked at does anyone have any suggestions?

if it's on a budget and you want some proper old school and affordable mechanics to look at it / fix it then I'd recommend Bike Care off St Georges Street in Bristol 0117 939 7750. If Ray still works there then he's the one you want.... the others are surly! I used to take my old GS500 there all the time and would generally fix the bike for less than anywhere else quoted for the parts.

If it's a new bike and you're looking for new shiny parts for your Pride and Joy then I'd go elsewhere

ah, then those are your boys. If you tell them that it's for use and abuse they will cut their cloth accordingly! Let me know how you get on!
