Nearly bought one from Colchester Kwak when they were punting them out for 6999 with 0% finance. From everything I've read they're a cracking bike.
They look mean as fuck.

but still beaten by the Street Triple on looks, performance and every thing else ;)
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder and all that.
I disagree with the looks part, the street triple is fugly in my opinion. I love the muscle bike stance of the Z.
Plus the street triple was a grand + more with no decent deals to be had (when I looked).

Which is beaten by the MVs (in every thing but price). Having ridden the 675 MV its engine is just a little bit more than the trumpets.
Another Kawasaki that can only compete in its market by having a factory big bore kit
They look great apart from the end can. I've a couple of mates, one a newbie and one an old hand and they are both delighted with them. The old hand has a lovely sounding can on it and a few other tasteful mods.
Were it not for the 675 unit I'd have considered one.
Remember Glenn had the 750.
Good looking machine...favourable reviews...you're a Kawasaki man...as you suggest to others...Nike... :)

So had I. It was great for real world roads.
Looks are subjective. Personally, I like it. It looks mean. A Street Triple looks surprised. ;-)
Sorry Ray. I had forgotten. I remember now but thought you went from the C to the CB.
As ever, you were fast on that too. Did you have the original and Glenn have the updated?
Mine was an '05. I think Glenn's was the same model. Not sure, though.
I do miss the extra 30bhp I had with the Z. ;)
I've got the 2011 Z750R, the previous bike to the Z800.
Chopped in the zx6r for it. I've had it 3 years now and put 16,000 miles on it. Perfect for real world roads, get the suspension set right for your weight and roads and it's excellent.
I haven't tried the Z800, I quite like the looks, not keen on the 'Z' logo break light or the rear foot pegs/exhaust hanger setup.
I'm sure it's just as much bike as mine, all I can say is get a test ride and go from there.
Thanks for the replies. The local Kwak dealer doesn't have a demo or I would have had a blast. Think it's a cracking looking bike, though there would be a couple of things that need changing. Really need a shot on one to see how it performs as one bloke had his on a dyno and it was only putting out 74bhp at the wheel. May have been an ill bike !!!!! Might have to go further afield to get a demo. Watch this space. :undecided:

Youll no be happy with 74
Had he bought an er6 by mistake?
There are 2 types of z800 - the full fat version and a restricted version. Are you sure he didn't buy the restricted version?
Forgot about the 'e' version
