Buell have declared bankruptcy again. Not a fan of the marque, but a shame none the less

Didn't he go out of business the first time cause Harley refused to do business with him anymore therefore he lost his supply of engines?

I thought it was due to Harley budget cuts that he ended up going tits up as they pulled funding?
Were they still in wsbk this year?
Test rode an 1190RX....186 bhp missile...handled as sweet as you could ever hope for... ends there though....build quality is horrendous...engine is agricultural at anything other than full beans...clutch lever action was as heavy as I have ever experienced...it was never going to convince the British market.

Politics because he was talking to Rotax around the 1125R wanted a higher revving/power engine to try to compete in the sports market. Real shame as I have a soft spot for them, used to be a sales specialist with the marque in my Carnell days and couldn't help but think they got the naked fighter market much quicker than the japs. Lots of TLC needed but a fair few grins as a reward from one of the innovative thinkers in the industry

Completely agree. You look at the M2 and Lightning now, and they were 10 years ahead of the market. It's a real shame.

He sure knew how to design a sweet handling chassis...stick a powerful inline 4 in there and you would have a serious bit of kit.
