got the bike back on the road yesterday ready for some summer riding, put it away last night with a Full tank of fuel which it has not had a good few months.
Got home today to the smell of petrol in the house and found the bike had been leaking fuel. Garage is attached to the house, I do not keep it in the living room.
Tank off and it's coming from a 3 mm hole which was under some filler which was done a few years ago when I crashed it.
Now the question is for a repair I was going to get it welded but have seen some fillers for this type of problem and they have good reviews, any opinions guys?
used to be able to get stuff called Petseal that you chucked in the tank, rolled it around so it coated the inside and once set seals any leaks. You would need to take out the petrol pump etc first but that or similar would do the job.
Thanks I will have a look for it
POR51 I think is the stuff you can pour in to seal a tank.
