Title: Well I didn't think it was worth that!!
Post by: Lord Danoir the first on August 17, 2015, 09:35:22 AM
Need to create a bit more space in the garage for the arrival of a new car, so decided that the ZX7R had to go.

No idea what it was worth so stuck it on with a £400 reserve, and to my complete amazement:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-ZX7R-/271952717757

Even had some chap have a bit of a moan because I couldn't be arsed to dig out the fairings and he apparently was willing to go up to £1,250!!!...... I think he's talking bollocks, you can get a running one for that.

Shame it has to go, but there's enough in my garage now to keep me occupied.

nice!
People tend to get a tad crazy on ebay... although have you actually received funds yet? until that point still plenty of time to be disappointed ;)

Indeed, and half expected...... 'tis after all the nature of e-bay.

Spoke to the winning bidder this morning to arrange collection, he seemed genuine enough although I am half expecting him to rock up and say "I didn't know it wasn't running".

they do make me larfff

Good lord no. That's a neighbours old shitter which I'm now thankfully rid of, and my garage is all mine again.

Your eBay description was sooooo polite.

Well done. Great sale.

bit sad to see it go unfinished.... I hope the next owner has the time to finish it; will make someone a lovely bike!

Well it's been collected.... he didn't try to haggle which was good.

Matey had a bit of concern that it wasn't running but I reminded him that it was sold as a none runner.

Stripping carbs and all that shit doesn't sound like much fun to me at the moment, so it's now down to him.

was it sold with the caveat that you were promised a go on it once finished?

Not wanting to judge a book by its cover, but I suspect it'll get thrown back together and won't necessarily be a motorcycle I'd like to ride. Hope I'm wrong.

Lol I'd give it a shot if it wasn't the same weight as a tank, guy did the Taffy Dakar on a Buel last year.
I work as an instructor for a Honda dealership part time, I'll just punt the idea of a loan bike for any off roading excursions
