Come on, pitch in.
Laid under it in prep for Valley yesterday for 3 hours.
Stripped all plastics
Uploaded latest flash to the ECU
Changed fork springs (10.5)
Changed Oil
Changed Filter
New Lock Wire throughout (dont wanna be dropping stuff on Moz's runway)
Cleaned it with a brush
Changed two rear tyres
Fitted new captive spacers to OEM rims
New set of Z04 pads
Fitted new carbon mudgaurd after the GRP got poorly courtesy of a stone at Cadwell
Ready for Valley :-)
Waiting for a call to say my wheel is ready to collect.
Once that is back in it will be time to test my new power washer then maybe a pootle out on Sunday.
Nowt, working on the car instead replacing rear discs and pads and bleeding the system, may wash the bike later :azn:
Looked out of the window at it, where it has been for a good few weeks since the last time it moved
I refitted the battery....
last weekend I replaced the Yoshi exhaust badge, fitted new short break levers and get her one hell of a clean and polish.
Ride all year round so won't stay shiny for long.
Nothing today but I did have to move it a couple of months ago to get to my chainsaw if that counts at all?
Looked at it as I was getting material out of the garage.
I rode mine to work on Weds (not technically today but recent) and it's so loud I had a stinking headache when I got home......
(1200 miles now Timmaaayyy to answer your question from a week or so ago.
Hope you packed your wets MC......
nothing, working like a dog as per usual :(
feeling like id been outdone when the bloke at the engineering shop next door parked a brand new 1199 panigale next to my poor old zxr..... I was jealous!
Squirted a bit of lube on chain, rode to work, had shit day at work, pinned it through gleneagles, parked it, went for top meal with gorgeous wife. :afro:
Looked at it in the garage(again)
Looked at the empty space in my shiney new garage where at least one bike should be stood :(
Rode to work Thursday, lovely day, good days work and good ride home in lovely weather.
Then got a puncture a few miles from home, limped back on an almost flat rear...
Was planning on new boots front and rear but I guess it'll happen sooner than planned now.

Bummer dude ... just think how many top ZX10R's are gonna be cleared out from the BSB paddock this year :-)
Val Du Vienne planning just about to start for next summer ! Get it sorted....
Stroked it as i walked through the shed to get the kids push bikes out (well that was yesterday actually)
I doubled the pressure in the tyres yesterday , really makes a difference!!!

I may even believe that ! The number of people that asked what to do about their trackday weapon not wanting to change direction -- front psi - regularly under 30 ... no wonder it wont turn in when you touch the brakes. ** note this is generic and not directed at anyone on here ;) **
Today - Nothing.
Yesterday, had a bimble out with Steff to Rivington Barn for a brew :)
ordered some new rubber as wore rear out in wales :)

trust ducati though to fit a tyre with unusual profile
so only about 3 tyres are available (that is if you want the TC to work properly)

i find i tend to go in circles when i do that !
How many miles do you get out of a set of tyres, Komp?
this will be my 2nd rear change and first front change
and bike is on roughly 7900 miles
so average is 4k per rear and 8k per front! (although i am sure i changed the first rear at about 3k, so this one has done quite a bit more!)
anyway very similar to all my other bikes if memory serves me correctly
Cheers dude. Reason I ask is that I've got 2,000 miles on my current set and am off to Brittany next week for a weekend with a couple of mates.
Will be my first 'tour' on a bike and the other lads, who are touring old hands, have been like "oooh, make sure there's plenty of life in the tyres, brake pads and chain, don't want to have to change them half way through the trip, service the bike, change the oil, make sure you've got a paddock stand, socket set, chain lube 2 quarts of oil, spark plugs, spare piston, in your backpack etc".
Trip should apparently involve 1,000 to 1,500 miles.
Seemed like a waste to junk these tyres and waste 300 quid with only 2k on them and when they look fine to me. Chain and brake pads look fine as well.
But the comments from the other lads are stressing me out.
My feeling is that these'll be fine and just to go with it...
Why is 1,000 miles in France materially different from 1,000 in the UK? The damn bike is a year old and was only serviced in June!
They're winding me up, aren't they...
If it wears out just buy a tyre in France. it's not like it's the back of beyond. Don't panic, just enjoy the trip.
:thumbleft:
Je voudrais acheter un pneu moto s'il vous plaƮt :moto:
yep tyres will be fine
the 899 is a perfect tourer ;)
it will be awesome
To be fair Komp, your rear at the end of your latest jaunt had probably done 500 miles too many!!!

yeah, don't worry about it. The majority of the miles are likely to be getting there and back aren't they easy miles for the tyres to soak up and all the decent riding will be on the edges of the tyres anyway.... easy!
