Pretty much. Couple of fingers a bit broken... Hands obv went out first!!
Sigma slipper clutch is awesome though.
Anyone know of a b1 being broken off hand. Not turned much up on eBay so far.
is the front end as bent as it looks?
Bugger! Are you OK Matt?
Winter is not the time of year to be riding track days.
Sigma in a b1! Oooh! Can't have been cheap...
Sorry about the off :(
Turn 1?

Fingers are the main injury MOz. Hand and fingers swelling up now,
Will hurt for a few days, but essentially fine, I drove home and unloaded the van, so can't be too bad.
Was turn two. Hit the brakes and down it went! Not sure on the speed until my mate gets the data from the card, but I had a good long relaxing slide as I watched the bike catapulting about in the grass

Only taken as a joke. Unfortunately the sigma wouldn't cover the cost of the repairs... Depending on how out of hand it all gets!!
I know I remember how much my b1h bits cost me , have you done a quick damage assessment? Often things look worse but sometimes there worse than they look...

If it's old stock of an older model then maybe the prices will be lower.

I've broke loads of fingers before I moved to HELD Titan gloves ... nothing since despite some fast ejection sequences ;-)

Will have a look at those gloves mark. Mine haven't a mark on them! Leathers held up well also, but it was wet and most of my sliding was on grass.
93mph is approximate speed when I crashed, and the bike travelled 192m before the engine cut out (so data logging stopped), the bike was still doing 30mph at that point! It's by far my fastest get off.

So I ordered them on the 2nd, received them today. Made to order, so they were manufactured in that time. Initial thoughts are that they maybe aren't the thickest layup of fibreglass in places, they may not be brilliant in a crash, but they are reinforced in the seat and the upper part is a thicker section than the belly pan. It's not fully drilled, but that is fine, the dzeus fasteners all line up and are a nice bonus, they also threw in a seat foam. Overall very impressed so far. Have mocked up the bellypan and dimensionally seems good, need to fix the air intake before I can get them fitted properly. Two small cracks in the gel coat probably from transit. Got a Christmas card as well!

Pretty sure it's just in the gel coat. I will just put a little filler in it and live with it.
how much they cost you in the end?
That's not bad
The bike was mostly black with a green tail. Should I go fully black or put a bit of colour in the scheme? What do peeps think?

I have been caught by it before. I'm hoping if I paint it straight away I'm in with a better chance of missing the curse. Maybe all black is the way to go
Do a cheap rep!
All black and scuff up the sides. Saves worrying about messing it up
I'd do a plain spray job and stick some decals on it. I've never had a track bike, though, so what do I know? ;)

They are wafer thin in a few places. I'm well on with fitting them and I will need to lay a bit of fibreglass on the inside to beef them up a bit. Not great, but still a cheap easy fix.
Has the full damage been assessed now?
Quote from: Carbon_ZX6R on December 22, 2015, 10:11:07 PM
Has the full damage been assessed now?
Yeah. Repairs are well under way.
Parts bought:
Footpeg hanger, footpeg, shift rod rose joint, fairing, screen, LHS crash bung, exhaust + link pipe(pipewerx), arrow steering damper mount broken and being reverse engineered at a local machine shop
Repairs or damage:
Air intake repaired, tank dented, mudguard scratched, gen NRC casing scratched/worn, clutch lever tip worn, brake fluid reservoir to be replaced, subframe bent at the tail end which I will live with
In a separate matter the brake discs on my wets are warped and I need to replace them... Any recommendations for an affordable after market brake disc?
Also would like to pc3 and custom map it, but £465 at JHS to supply, fit and dyno is a bit more than I want to spend. Does this sound like a fair price?
Here we go. Three jobs left to do, pc3 to reposition, new rear sprocket to fit and steering damper to fit.
Here is how it's turned out...

Mods for power? Or just mods?
For power, not much, piper cross filter and link pipe and end can. So engine is stock. It's using some oil so there are some losses in the engine anyhow. Over 18k miles on it now.
almost looks ride able now..... :)
How's the bodywork, now that you've got it all fitted?

Negative points... It was very thin in places and I had to lay a bit more fibreglass on the inside in a few areas. Maybe it wasn't really needed! The seat unit didn't come with a seat box so I had to make some brackets to support it. When I was in with JHS James thought it was quite heavy for what it is and without a seat box the seat would break.
I haven't enough experience of race fairings to be much of an authority, but to me they were easy enough to fit, only minor trimming and drilling to get it on. I was expecting them to be worse!! I think they will do the job ok, but I'm sure of you spend a bit more you will get something better.
looks like a bike again..
just one suggestion if you haven't done it already and it's not too late.... where the gel coat it cracked drill a tiny hole at the end of the crack to stop it spreading any further or else it will just keep growing as you ride and the bodywork flexes around underneath you..
