Title: ZX6R G1
Post by: Roppa6r on December 13, 2015, 08:34:35 PM
I'm thinking of doing a street fighter project on my ZX6R G1, what do I need to do with the air intakes, resonator boxes and the 'Y' link pipe?.

I'm fairly sure most people just bin them, which is usually the biggest criticism of Streetfightering sports bikes as they end up with 2 holes in the frame where the ducts used to be. All the ones I've seen have sacrificed the ram air to get the right "look".

Will it have an impact on the performance?

Yes..... But so will removing the fairings you wouldn't want to do that kinda speed on an unfaired bike so its really of no consequence

Pretty sure you have to keep the Y piece and all the other gubbins or it will screw up the carburation.

Surprisingly, that actually looks good! A lot of work has obviously gone into it, and a lot of careful thinking about which bits to use.
