I'm after any recommendations of either really.
Anyone wear either regularly? Shorty boots appeal due to the ankle protection but the fact they don't take forever to put on.
I've used the sidi streetburners for years there my most used boot ,offer a good amount of protection (for a short boot) very comfortable , and nice and easy to get on
I have Sidi Vertigo Corsa's so know Sidis fit me well but those streetburners are mega pricey
Hood Jeans work for me, I have some Astars shortly boots but I reckon I'll replace them with Sidi. Saying that I've had the boots a good few years and they are comfy and work well on the bike they've just worn badly (IMO) from the gearchange.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has successfully crash tested any of the jeans or boots suggested.
I like the look of the arc-on kevlar trousers. They come with Forcefield armour. I do have a pair of kevlar jeans but there's no armour in them.
I'd be interested to see who else makes them. I think RST do as well.
I've RST jeans with Kevlar (aramid I think) and hip and knee CE protection. I've also TCX X-Rap boots. Have done considerable miles in both. Boots are not waterproof as advertised but apart from that I feel they are a good commuting, cross continent option.
I've crashed in draggin jeans without injury

No, and prefer to keep it that way.

Nope, they are Kevlar.
Found some road orientated TCX boots locally for £99 and they fit well but looked a little OAP so I think I'll go with the waterproof roadster x ones with the toe sliders. Have found them for £90 delivered.

Really?..............I wear Supertech R's and they take way less than a minute to put on and fit under most cuts of jean. Sidi's might be different?
Sidi's are very different sadly.
They fit great but take ages to get all the adjuster flaps in the right order and tightened down and are fairly bulky underneath the jeans I have at the moment.
Plus they are not showerproof.
I've just found these for £85 delivered. Will give them a go.

I'm tending towards kevlar jeans and short boots on most occasions currently. Have a pair of sartso combats which take armour and a pair of hornee jeans which take armour. The knox ones look good as the armour goes in from the outside and I'm also considering a pair of roadskins. Current armour is HG soft armour which is comfy..
Are the Knox jeans fully lined (rather than patches) Manic??
If my memory serves me right Knox don't have pockets for knee and hip armour.
They do have pockets for knee and appealingly, it slides in from the outside making it stay in place better.

Tbh I can't remember, the road skins are and they do a pair which are double lined, supposedly as good as leather in an abrasion test.. but the Knox ones are stylish and as you say the way the armour fits is an appeal
Having double checked they are apparently fully lined
Looks like Knox are the ones to try. I missed out on a pair of Maple 71s on eBay last night and despite them possibly being too big I'm pretty gutted about it. Reading about them they are considered to be the best by far.
I've got Red Route jeans which have padded hips and armoured knees. Crashed twice in them and we're both still in tact.
They look quite cool and I can wear them with a shirt for work.
Another one to have a look for. Thanks Dan x

In this instance Alzo I'm far more interested in seeing how a conversation goes where Carbon tries to explain to Moz the virtues of spending the proper money on the kit for the job than I am interested in how he spells that conversation.
My irony senses are tingling!
