Title: Abbaesk stand
Post by: Carbon_ZX6R on August 11, 2016, 08:12:24 PM
Is this just a poor quality equivalent? Would it help take the rear end off the b1h?

I'm guessing this is like buying Chinese Pazzo copies.

Supporting poorly made substandard copies of much better innovations.

You get what you pay for.

Not exactly a copy as it works differently but we will see if it's just as good , or at least fit for purpose

I didn't even look into it. I just assumed the name suggested it was a Chinese Abba Stand.

Have a guess why abba stands have been going for so long.

Granted but they can't be the only option

Steady on guys - I've got an Abba stand myself & I love it.......but its only some square-hollow-section, some bits of bent plate & some threaded bar - it's not exactly rocket-science & I'm sure someone could make just as functional a version for a LOT less ££.

Off you go then, don't forget all the overheads like labour, heating, lighting, rent rates wages etc etc that is required to run the business and hold stock  ;)

Not forgetting some kind of manufacturing defect warranty. Good luck getting that from your *Chinese/Indian sweat shop copy. (*Other sweat shops are available)

Stand has arrived had to pay duty on it so not quite as good value but still half the price of an Abba and it's universal , the quality and construction is the best of any paddock stand I have seen and I'm completely shocked how solid it is , also it's not Chinese made its German and believe me you notice it , as I've ordered another one so I can switch the rear shocks easily so there will be one for sale on here soon as I will only need one

It's better made than my Harris stand and that's not a cheap stand , you probably can't tell in the photo

Can't really knock it if I'm honest does everything the Abba does and more , and it's a more solid construction

Looking at that pic I kind doubt it's more solid than an Abba stand, mine weighs a fecking ton and is made of thick box section, I'm not saying that's crap as I haven't tried it but to me those tubes look a little thin, as do the wheels, but time will tell I guess!

I agree, my Abba stand is over 10 years old and apart from a few scratches on the paint due to use it's as new. Cost me £90 and been worth every penny.

its the photo the rod that's in the stand I believe is the 2nd smallest and that takes the wheels id say are standard paddock stand size

Na it's brilliant but I don't need two , the chances of me switching two shocks over at the same time are slim at best

So you think the Harris/Abba stands are better then if they're what you are keeping?
