Title: Putting a bike to bed for seven months
Post by: Kath600 on August 07, 2013, 02:40:27 PM
James leaves for another deployment next week. No point in having three bikes on the road for me to ride so the Blade is being SORN.

Apart from trickle charge and fuel stablizer (sp) stuff any other advice for whilst it's in hibernation.

May also be for sale in the spring if anyone is interested in a well looked after 2007 HM Plant Blade

Put it on stands to get the tyres off the floor, cover it, if it's in a dry environment that should do it if there is any chance of damp spray everywhere (apart form brakes and tyres with GT85 or some other water repelling stuff. Don't be tempted to start it every now and then unless you will take it out for a good run as you will never get it hot enough to drive all the condensation out of the engine and will increase corrosion.

do get it up on stands if you can, or at least out some old carpet under the wheels to get the tyres off the concrete

All that Green says really, but also take out the battery, and charge it overnight every 2 or 3 weeks
