General question.....is there much difference between one brand or another ?
I need to get some new fluid for the trackbike, and was just wondering if the Motul RBF600 that I've found for £15 delivered is worth the extra over Halfords own brand @ £7.50 ??
Dot 4 all as good as one another as far as I know...

+1 it all meets the same specs
That's what I thought, but reading the specs for the Motul racing stuff, it states it's boiling properties, and they are considerably higher that 'regular' DOT4 fluids
Do you feel happier with cheap or a higher boiling point?
Then buy the Motul one then...

ah yes if there is a specific difference go with the higher spec
Considering I put some regular fluid in the trackbike only last year, and it has now gone bright pink, I think it prudent to buy some decent stuff.
Brakes are an area that I try not to scrimp and save on as they are the single most important part on the bike.

I say go for the Motul as per the pickled one's suggestion.
I used Castrol "super" dot 4 over the regular stuff for the same reason - higher boiling point. Gotta be better ain't it!?!?
Just remembered.
I've been using Nissan own brand stuff for years. Don't know what boiling point or anything, just that its dot4.
NEVER had an issue with it on the b1
I use the bog stock Motul stuff at around a £5 for 500ml in the track bike - no issues at all in over 100 track days even though I only change it every couple of years. The feel at the lever never changes.
