Title: MV Agusta Dragster 800
Post by: Scat1 on May 12, 2017, 04:22:53 PM
Anyone got any opinions?

Looks nice and the reviews seem to be ok.

Not looking at the RR and this one has about 125bhp which seems plenty for someone sensible like me 😀

Dealership back up would be my biggest worry.

Not a great angle to gauge looks, but back end looks like a mini diavel

They look lovely but as others have said dealer backup could be an issue

Dealers have been dying off like fly's. Saying that parts are coming through pretty good it seems.
I put a warranty claim in for a dodgy gear position sensor and it arrived within 3 weeks.

Haven't MV got financial issues again??

Think financials are sorted now. Dealer just opened 30 mins from me in Dudley jointly with Ducati. Point taken though, thanks.

There isn't an awful lot else that floats my boat atm.

Ducati Streetfighter is an awesome bike.

Carbon not required however.

I've just noticed Scat's back!!!!! How are you mate!!

Will have a Ducati streetfighter with ohlins in the garage one day for sunny weekend rides.

The MV 800 F3 looks great, little less convinced with the Dragster or am I thinking of the Rivale?!

Looks stunning. Probably a hoot to ride.

Buy it now and to the Devil with the consequences.

Hey Moz! Yes back! I'm good mate how are you?

Just looking at the street fighter. Thing that appeals is that I'm 6' and the dragster might be a bit small. Love the looks though.

The only thing I did to my Streetfighter was extend the footpegs out a little. It's a common mod as there ain't much room.

Have you considered a Superduke of you want a naked twin?

Didn't know you had a Streetfighter. Did you like it?

That's fave atm along with Speed Triple R. Might go and ride both and see how I feel.

How long is the bike sabbatical gonna last? 😝

AAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!..... as long as it takes him to convince his wife that he needs a bike in addition to the F Type Jag he's just bought.

And knowing his wife, and knowing how charming Moz is..... that still may take some time.... like 3 days or something

3 days.....isn't that the average time he usually keeps a bike for? 😂

Just been in to trijmph. They have a year old speed triple r with 300 miles on at 2k off new 🤔

Looked at the street but having bags of torque appeals....

can't argue with that  :azn: either is a very very good bike, I prefer the Street but that's a personal choice  :azn:

Really liked my Streetfighter but it took a change of bars and the legs mod to get it "right".

Barking engine for a naked.

Very nice.

Think the 2016 speed triple r is the one.

Changed my mind (feeling more like Moz every day! 😝) and I think it's gonna be the beemer S1000r. Got all the toys on and heated grips which to be honest has swung it 😂

New model or used one?

Think 2017. Although not huge change from previous model I don't think. Any opinions?

The Heated grips are poor. Buy it for other reasons. I've owned both and would buy another Speed Triple. I wouldn't buy another S1000R.

My S1000R was awesome (yes I've had one of those too . Heated grips worked fine.

Alzo's just sore as BMW made sure they supplied him with the one Friday pm lemon they made that year.

New one has QS up and down with blipper. I'd have another one in a heartbeat. Wise choice.

Top of my naked list would be a Tuono 1100.  :afro:

Isn't it the more expensive Sport model that has the up/down QS and cleverer ABS?

That's not fair Moz....had my issues...and it was a great bike...but I stand by what I said...if given the choice of the S1R or a Speed Triple I would without hesitation take the Triumph...retrospect allows me that privilege and the Speed is a better road bike with much more character.
That's my honest thought. Neither will never disappoint...but the Triumph wins the heart.

It was only banter mate, and quite rightly, you are in a much better position to comment.

I preferred my S1R to my Speed Triple but that was an older model without the plush brakes and suspension. Engine-wise the Triple has more character for sure.
