Title: New lid advice
Post by: Druid on April 17, 2018, 08:28:16 PM
So I think i'm gonna buy this lid. Comes in two versions-
Carbon with a dark visor at £670-https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/264046
or standard with a visor for £300-http://www.helmetcity.co.uk/bell-star-solid-matt-black-sale-visor-offer/
Is the extra cost of the Carbon one really worth the cost although it wins the style battle?

depends on what you mean by worth it , i have a carbon BELL m5X and its just over a kg , i notice a massive difference in weight , and strain on my neck , would i pay double the price possibly not but a full carbon helmet is worth a bit extra

If you like it then it's worth it.
Would I pay that for a Carbon helmet. No

And the benefit of a carbon is helmet is what compared to another similar priced lid ?

A little weight loss. I find that as you move and the wind hits. The weight is never and issue with any lid i have had

They all have to pass standards , the interior feel and fit in my opinion is the main thing after " make " .

We tend to stick to what suits us.

I do not have a Shoe or Arai head. Cost me a few pounds to find that out.
