I've recently got back on two wheels.
The hype was awesome - the test ride very entertaining - therefore it had to be done.
Ninjas I give you - the finest and most entertaining middleweight naked on the market.

I fitted the tail tidy yesterday. I have the slip-on akky coming as part of the deal but I'm hearing a full Akky system is on its way too so I might wait for that. Austin Racing make a lovely looking system for the 1290 so I'm hoping they might produce one for the 790 too.
I'm very impressed with it - really nice engine, the QS works very well both up and down and it handles so sharp!!! Despite not being adjustable, the suspension feels great out of the box and the brakes aren't Brembos but they are plenty for road riding.
An R model is being denied but if it turns up I'd definitely consider it. First service is booked in a weeks time. Looking forward to having all the revs. It lifts the front off the throttle in second beautifully. It also has fully switchable lean ABS, TC, launch control (why I have no idea but it sounds cool) and a supermoto mode for backing it in (personal talent pending!!) 😎
Once again, you sir have some fine toys.
Bet that is a hoot on anything twisty.
It's a mighty fine looking steed .
I need to remove the pillion pegs but the exhaust hanger is integrated into he RHS so I'll leave that for now. With the pegs removed (along with the grab handle which went this weekend) and bar end mirrors it looks much sharper.
Nice......we need pic of supermoto mode in action

Lush.
Great choice ( eventually ) 😉
Looks like a fun package. Enjoy your time together (however long or short 😉)

Yes. I've arranged a 1290R test for when it has its service. I always said i wouldnt....
2019 could be Superduke year.......
It's the only thing I miss - tarmac ripping grunt from about 50-70 mph for over taking. You have to use the gearbox a little more on this.
Nice !!! I was looking into one of these a few weeks ago when at Cresent, weighing up if I could afford 2 bikes on PCP. Sadly not
Nice  may have to try one out see how it compares the the RS.

About 20 bhp down I guess.
An r version would give it a very good run for its money.

It's not all about power, not looking to replace the RS as I love that bike, wondering if it's different enough to be a replacement for the 2013 Street R instead ;)
Looks nice Moz.
Getting use to the 1290 after a shaky start.

So I've heard. Wazza said you didn't like it at first. The state of your tyres Id say you're loving it!!!
Today was good after experimenting with the suspension.
Full power day. Holy crap, need to be careful with this one.
Is it a 17/18 model year with TFT dash??
Can you get / have you got the QS switched on???
17 model with normal dash. Yes has a QS. TBH cant get my around the QS. It is ingrained in me to shut the throttle when changing up.
