My keeper

The other keeper, more of sentimental value. Bought for me by my beautiful wife for my 40th when we couldn't afford it

I love that MV Dan.
It is just stunning and is one of THE bike style icons.
My Keeper - Does everything I need well enough to prevent me ever being able to justify buying anything else, takes almost no maintenance, flatters my hamfisted input and makes me smile.

The 790 will become a 1290R I reckon.
zx-7r was my keeper and Ive owned it for 12 years now!
The Ducati SportClassic planned to be a keeper, but.......

Soooo its now 2018... 9 years later I think its a keeper :afro:
Would love a newer model with all the bells and whistles but while this one owes me nothing its hard to justify spending all that money when I can go have my fix on track with some like minded mates nowadays.

Ohlins, front and rear. Not standard.
Harris yokes.
Dymag 7 spoke. Alloy.
AP calipers and master cylinders.
Translogic dash.
Akrapovic full system.
ZZR cams.
Yoshimura TMR 38mm flatsides.
ZX7R radiator.
Various alloy bits and pieces.
The Z that arrived in my possession in April 2016, used daily and has proved to be a very capable bike indeed, not sure what could replace it tbh

I love it but given the ti rods in my right arm and ti plate in left collarbone I can't spend more than half hour on a full on Sportsbike hence fighter the bike I love..
For that reason (and that reason alone) - you are forgiven 🤭

LOL .. in its fighter form it is scarier to ride and bloody awesome.. it has a brutal style to it both cosmetically and dynamically bit like me really 😉😉

DeeDub,

Flickr seems to work but not via the Flickr app. Have to go through the web page which is a bit of a chore. Other forum software just lets you cut n paste the URL and sorts all the [img] bollocks out itself.
The above works on phones, tablets etc.
Seems much simpler than Flickr
All my photos automatically backup to Flickr so it's just convenient.
My z how are you getting on with the 790?
Not ridden it since mid June as I am away with work.
Covered about 800 miles in the short period I've had it and love it. Have an Austin Racing stubby slip-on and seat cowl coming for when I get home in Oct to improve the rear end and noise. The decat option seems insultingly loud so avoided that, plus if it does morph into a 1290 next year I want stuff that's easy to remove to sell on.
Its an exceptional bike. I guess the only thing that lets it down is the brakes (I'd love to do a road bike only trackday next summer) and I think they'll be found wanting a little on track. A Brembo MC would sort it easily.

thats an official ktm powerpart (its missing its screen in photo), got fed up with people going "bloody hell your 125 is fast"
so tried to mimic the 690 with it , got a full factory decal kit to botch onto it so should look better then

I looked at that when I first got a bike again, I was put off by the lack of BHP, What is it like to ride? Is it fast enough to have fun on on B roads and put a smile on your face? I know KTM ar releasing a 390 R limited to 500 units a year, now that sounds fun.
Everyone that purchased the 390 on the KTM forum, have sold them. Not enough power or torque to have fun on.

Definitely has enough grunt for that , once you sort the fueling out it's a very fun bike , not designed for the motorway , I'm used to having instant power ,this has it , not as much as some other items , but it can out pace a bandit , er6 and the likes , I notice no difference really between this and my old 640 am other than it's more comfortable , in all honesty it's the most fun I've had on the road in years

I'd strongly disagree with it not having enough torque or power to have fun on , fueling is messy so that needs addressing , is it comparable to a competition spec supermoto no but the difference between a set up Duke 390 and a stock 690 is not as big as you would think(I have ridden the latest one as possible replacement for b1h)
