Other than challenging looks, anyone have any experience of them; they get good reviews as having decent handling and come with decent suspension compared to other naked/semi-faired middle weights
What are they selling for these days?
Looks like anything between £1500 & £2500, depending on mileage, they seem to be fairly rare though
I rode a TT...willing engine...worth a punt if in the right condition.
The obvious choice would be a Z750, but like the idea of better suspension, or hold out and go for a z1000...but I like light and nimble bikes
I found the Z750 engine asthmatic...636 has more pull and urgency...never ridden a Z1000...but imagine it would pull well...but probably not as light and nimble as per your desire.
A sales flop from memory. Probably a bit before it's time seeing how popular sports naked bikes are now.
Any that are still around must be getting on a bit now?

Good to know, cheers. Have never ridden the z750, but had a brief shot of a z1000 and loved it; it was on twisty roads but only about ten miles, tops.

Yeah, maybe was a bit ahead of its time, ironic in that it's base was just too late to the market.
Street Triple was more on the money, but maybe a bit more than I want to spend.

Z750 has a good linear power delivery, not frantic like a SS600 but above 9K it pulls hard and fast.
Suspension is its weak point, mines in now with JHS having the front end fully service new seals, stantions, KTEC springs for my weight etc. I will adjust the rear as its set as standard for a rider of 70KG and possibly swap out the rear shock for a new Nitron. its a lovely bike just needs a few tweaks to really make me smile.

Thanks for the info, had read that there were tweaks that could be made to sort out the handling, but wasn't sure what they were.

Stretch your budget and get the Street you won't regret it :azn:
Didn't the Speed Four have the same fuelling issues as the TT600?

According to the MCN review, there were lots of tweaks to sort out the fuel injection issues, but still snatchy around town.

I know but they are worth it that's why. I am considering selling my 2013 Strret R , 15K miles, full service history, Arrow can, QS, crash bungs, PR4 tyres done less than 500 miles - would be looking for around £4800.

If I could stretch to that I would, but changing bikes is probably the last thing I should be thinking of just now; ergo i why I'm considering it
It did cross my mind that the Aprillia Shiver and Mana are around the 3k mark, both of which I also like, but reliability is more questionable
Aprilia Falco are a good shout on a budget. Same engine as the Mille.
Slightly odd, wrestling a hippo riding position.

True the 636 has more power (about 112 bhp compared to 100, IIRC), but I found I could ride the Z750 quicker round the Scotsburgring than my 636 because the suspension was more suited to real roads. It suited me anyway.

It may be that I expected too much when I rode one...please don't hate me... :(

I do seem to recall a blue blur sailing by :afro: :moto:
Pulled the trigger now it's Zed.
The bike I should've bought years ago(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180623/987f7ae65276e088e9408cf491d3ec6c.jpg)
Nice one Dave. Not too sure of the original exhaust but the zed looks good.
First impressions ?
Nice one, mate. Looks ace. I wish you many happy miles together! :moto:
Great looking bike...you'll go well on that.
Enjoy. :azn: :moto:
Cheers guys :-D

Love it! Should have got one years ago, felt right as soon as I started riding it. Even the wee screen is pretty effective, then there's the engine; the lovely vooming sound and the sheer smoothness compared to the twin, especially around town.
Quite like the look of the standard exhaust, have seen ones that have been cut down a bit too.
Maybe change it at some point.
Iconic. Enjoy 👍🏻😎
After the engine going on the beemer, I was a bit concerned of the registration being FKT, which can be read at least two ways, so fixed it ;-)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180624/abd7f4e2504854b227231ecf6c1b0fb7.jpg)
Always fancied one of these.
Also one of the few bikes I'd happily keep the standard exhaust on.
Enjoy!
Very nice, nearly traded my mille R for one of those.
