:love2:
Stopped off at Fowlers in Bristol today just to browse. and the Street Tripple 765 RD seriously caught my eye. Just love its look.
Considered moving towards a full on sports bike again. However this thing looks the nuts, absolutely stunning, and looks so well put together.
Cracking bike. Look good too. Not ridden one, but the folk I know who have love them. Only 1 p in triple. 😉
Fantastic machine. Just encourages you to go faster and faster.
These kinds of bikes are perfect for UK roads now. I really don't see the point of full on sportsbikes anymore unless you're doing a lot of trackdays.
Spot on DeeDub.
I think Green Ninja Iain has an RS?
Lovely bike. I'd be very tempted. Although no regrets, there are times owning a 790 Duke was much more logical than a 1290 Superduke.

You are spot on Moz, I do have a Street RS , 10k miles on it now, 2 years old, no intention of changing it for anything else any time soon. Off to the Pyrenes at the end of the month for 9 days, expect to put at least 2k on it may be more. It commutes (seldom) scratches well, tours well (with the right gear) and does track days, What more can you want. And in my experience it is a much better road bike that a spots bike and not much slower (that'll be me not the bike).
Test ride one and then buy one :azn:
The reviews are spot on for them.
I was impressed with the standard of build quality just looking around it in the show room. And there are some cracking deals to be had on them :) Test ride here i come.
I've got the older 635 RS and absolutely love it. I've had it for 3 years now, and the only reason i'd change it, would be to upgrade to the newer model. Love it, love it, love it!! As GN said, it really does everything and without giving me neck or back ache. it's great for a quick blast around the twisties, or a weeks touring.
The 675 engine is too "buzzy" at motorway speeds for any comfortable touring in my opinion.
Is the 765 better?

I have to disagree, you had the earlier underseat can version which ran lower gearing, also Who the hell tours on Mways ?? Not me. The 765 is better as it got even more torque and higher gearing plus the engine is noticeably smoother (I'm not saying the 675 is rough it isn't).
I can happily sit at a sustained 80 to 85 if required when I need to use an Mway normally it's either slower or faster depending on the road ;)
I said motorway speeds - not motorways. Prolonged high speed riding.
So you admit it was a problem with the older version I had, but has been fixed for the newer version and 765?
Does you 765 have a quickshifter and downshift blipper? I'm not sure I'd buy a modern bike without that now.
The RS spec has quick shifter .
Up and down?
Just up I think.
Yeah never had one before and managed lol

Wrong. Bet you've never ridden with a downshifter blipper have you? It's awesome. Allows deceleration on downshift without lever input upsetting the balance of the bike.
So basically having quick shower and a down blipper makes a bike a semi automatic 🤔

But isn't that the point of manually blipping?
The technology is ace but most of what I enjoy about riding bikes is the skills I've learned and continue to learn. There's no skill in upshifting, but going down the gears going in to a corner is all about keeping the bike settled and it's a skill I enjoy practising.
It's like these paddle gearboxes on cars, they're amazing, but I've spent time learning to heal-toe and brake with my left foot and I'm loathed to let these skills go to waste...... even if it means having my arse handed to me by some playstationation scallywag
I brought my 765 RS after falling in love with the triple last year. Hired a 675 RX for the Scotland trip in 2018 and it was ace! Finally got round to a test ride in Janurary this year and picked up a cracking deal on a used 765RS in March. Took it on the Scotland trip this year and did 1206 miles in 4 days. It is, by far, the best road bike Ive ever had. Much more fun than litre sports bikes and more comfortable than my old gixer 750.
You wont be disappointed.
Just back from a jaunt to France and Spain, just shy 2400 miles in 10 days and I can still walk and no more aches than normally, still loving it :azn:
