Title: Z1000
Post by: Foo on June 07, 2019, 10:29:02 PM
Anyone ridden the 2016 Z1000? Looks a big old beast, is it a de-tuned ZX10r? Mental? Good to ride? Etc etc

I think it is the same engine spec as my SX. So with a pipe and reflash it would be a hoot. You or Ian fancy one ?

I'm sure they ride and go well just can't get my head round the styling of them.

Love the look of them. Apparently the one to go for is the R/performance version with the Öhlins as standard.

Ian's having a test ride on a few bikes (this being one of them) this weekend.  I'm still loving my Triple so not looking to change for a while.

  yes he bought a 2018 Z1000r last weekend.

We went out for a quiet bimble on Sunday and even I got to have a play on it. Must say, I wasn't sure what to expect, but was really pleasantly surprised. Very refined, smooth with lots of low down power. It does come into its own when you give it a bit of stick, and those Akky cans make it sound amazing. I found it a bit strange as you can't see any of the front end of the bike when riding it. All you can see is the wing mirrors  :moto: you can feel the bike but not actually any of it!

As said on FB, good choice. He looked a happy bunny in the photos. Many happy and safe miles.  :moto: :moto: :moto:
