Possibly the wrong time to start this one.
Bike. Anywhere interesting . Bimble or spirited. Or just to pop out for an errand ?
Sunday afternoon.
ZRX1200R.
Scottish Borders. Had to do the Beeftub twice.
Spirited at times.

I took the GSXS1000F for a spin in Wales, got a bit of fast fun in, loved it
Sunday.
Kids TY80 up and down our road just to see if it still worked.
Yesterday morning took it for it's first MOT. before that 2 Charity track days at RAF Shawbury, before that 8 days round Scotishland 1832 miles which started with the Borders run.
Two weeks ago. Getting a bit chilly, so may put the bikes away for the winter.
2 weeks ago to go for new Switchgear.
July I think...... taxed it, MOT'd it, insured it...... rode it to work and ran out of petrol on the way home.
I've tried and tried and tried, and I get absolutely nothing out of road bikes.
Once things settle down, I might send it out to Spain and see if I use it more out there. That's where I do most of my track riding and the roads around where we live are sooooooo nice.

Plenty good roads in the UK. Shame we don't have the Spanish weather.
Rode it to and from the dealers recently, but excluding that, 2600 miles around the French and Swiss Alps in August.

I'd be jumping up and down wanting a new gearbox.
Hope it gets resolved soon.

i was planning on taking it further, and may still, but after i calmed down a bit, thought to myself, am i likely to be riding it at the moment? probably not. so is it worth creating a lot of drama just out of principle?

Oh would have been about 2 months ago, think we went to CMC motorcycles for a brew
Few weeks ago.
Really not been in the mood over this summer to be honest with all the Coronavirus malarkey. The missus anxiety levels have been bad enough without me adding to it so my free mornings have been on pedal bikes rather than motorbikes.
Sunday .... new tyres outlap on day 1 of a 3 day event last weekend.
Today. Z1000SX. 114 miles.
Started dry but soon started raining. Nothing too heavy.
Maybe squeeze in another couple of runs before it gets too cold. 🤞

Yesterday...left home...Powmill...Crieff...St Filans...Callander...Aberfoyle...Glasgow...home...never even looked at mileage...but the route is a good one...hit the spot as far as needing some R&R.
I love motorcycles. (Even glitch ridden S1000Rs)
February, bikes been in the garage since then but it'll get a service and clean up before I sell it and that will be it for a while, don't have the time to enjoy it anymore and not sure thats going to change.
Might get something to tinker with in the garage mind you.

And went out on Saturday on my own for a similar distance. :moto:
yesterday!!
i finally got the speed triple back with a new gearbox
was very happy to have my stress relief back
This afternoon. Z1000SX. 110 ish miles around Fife. A couple of degrees colder than when i set off. Thick mist in places was not on the forecast. Roads were a mixture of wet and dry. Tyres worn and squared off made it interesting at times. New PR5s in garage waiting to go on. A visit to Kirkcaldy Kawasaki confirmed I won't be purchasing a bike from them. Sales prevention at their finest.

Felt a bit like that when I test rode the T700 from Crescent. Hung around for a bit after but none of the sales people wanted to talk to a scruffy bloke with a DR350.

It's shocking. Diane and I went round three bike showrooms in Edinburgh in August and not one salesman took us on. Was the same when we went to look at the RE Himalayan in Coventry.
Today but not a big ride as I was only taking the GSXS for a service, whilst it was very damp and the leaves on the road don't improve my desire to have a go I have to say I love the bike every time I ride it..
Today, popped over to Southport to deliver something to a friend. Pissed it down on the way back.
In to work on the Zed Thou...50+mph winds meant the forth road bridge was shut and the wee ybr would've been a liability on the motorway in those conditions. fitted some power5's to the RS at the weekend
so have used it every day this week to commute and scrub them in
good tyres, really impressed by them so far
Saturday, I dragged my lead arse off the settee and took the ZRX out for a couple of hours. For a bike that is 15 years old, has carbs and twin shock suspension, it can still put a smile on this auld mans face.
Up to Oban for the weekend on the SX at the end of our cycling holiday - love that bike, even more than the Gen 1 Z1000. :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: :moto: :moto: :moto:
Bit of mixed weather on the way up, the S21s that were fitted when I got the bike work well but will be switching to PR5s as they are close to the wear limit after just 3000 odd miles but PR5s had done 6K on the Z1 and still had more life in them.

Saturday - Spent a day at the Rotor Adventures having some adventure bike training with Dakar racer Stan Watt.
Dropped my new bike twice, once on each side. No real damage.
Got told "You ride that thing good" by Stan. Plenty happy with that as an assessment and certainly the most glowing reference I have ever received for my riding.
Legs hurt for about two days due to my complete lack of fitness.
Tomorrow at Oulton with Brackstone

last night
went to Gt Bentley for first time this year
good turn out and some lovely machines as always
nice to catch up with my old man and my little brother and to be in a large crowd of bikers again.
Today!!!! Hurrah.
Reporting back I won't be buying a GS. Horrible big heavy thing that for a 4 year old bike with 14000 miles on it was not worth the £12500 asking price. Yes it was super smooth once going but a complete wanker of a bike in traffic and I kept smacking my shin on the RH cylinder head as I came to a stop. Stupid design...
The deposit on the Rally Pro that "will be with you by 4 June sir" has been reclaimed after "it probably won't be with you until next month and even then, I can't be sure".
Lucked in big time by going back to the dealer I just missed one with due to faffing a month ago and finding he has a cancelled order bike in stock. It's now mine. Better deal than the last one too.
Days of happy.
Saturday. Took the SX to chum my mate to Shirlaws Aberdeen as he was going to pay for his new bike. We took the long scenic route, Crieff, Dunkeld, Blairgowrie, Glenshee. We never got to Aberdeen as my mate got a holed radiator on his ZZR1400, at Kincardine o Neil. He came home on a AA recovery truck.
Last night. SX to the mates, to give him a hand to fit the repaired radiator. Scotrad had managed to repair the radiator. £20 compared to a new one at £700. Fitted and ran up to temperature. All good.

Friday, quick trip to the dealer to be told my exhaust flapper valve was stuck open causing the engine warning light and said valve was stuck due to a stone. On asking how that was even possible the reply was, "we don't know, it shouldn't be physically possible".

Friday, to get my front wheel replaced after they mauled the rim when changing the tyres.
October 2020, bikes been unseen since, stuck in Spain on bikes on holiday with FE
Not for ages. Isolating sucks.
You been pinged 👀

Friday. Ninja 1000SX. 2 up fully loaded with luggage. 272 miles to Lincoln. I think 172 of those were in the rain.

Was good fun, a bit cautious, but will definitely take it back on track - manged to be a bit faster than my last foray on the Z1000 over a year ago.
Saturday. TRF rideout to Salisbury Plain.
Went along cos I don't know the Plain well at all. Turns out neither did the organiser so it feel to me and two others to sling a route together on the fly.
Worked out pretty well.

Friday to Inverness. Saturday had a wee run up to JoG. Home yesterday.
598 miles.
Yesterday...240 odd miles to Portpatrick and back...some great roads around these parts.
Yesterday on the commute to work
I've ridden mine 4 days on the trot now.
That's not like me.
took the ktm to jim aim's for a service yesterday
was given one of these as a courtesy bike, so of course took the long route home.
quite good fun actually, handles well, although a tad bland, and has the worst seat i have ever encountered on a motorcycle
Z900RS demo ride yesterday...I will reconsider this bike in 10 years time...Ill appreciate more then. 😊
On the commute again today, fuel up is painful at £1.559 per litre for the V-Power E5 😬
Decided to go ut for breakfast on Sunday so we jumped on the SX and went to Powmill  before taking the scenic route :afro: :moto: to do the necessary DIY shopping  :(
Today. 179 miles on the Ninja1000sx, chasing a KTM SDR and a ZH2 around Central Scotland. :moto: :moto: :moto:

Today. 260ish miles on the Ninja1000SX, getting chased around the Scottish Borders, and Dumfries and Galloway by a KTM SDR. Weather was exceptional for the time of year.
Yesterday...310 miles chasing a Ninja 1000SX...some cracking routes...and the weather was waaaay better than the forecast suggested. :moto: :moto: :moto:
Two more days commuting this week.
1600 miles done since mid Jun (that's a lot for me).
I've put the Tiger up for sale. I want more power.

To be honest - the bike still needs to trawl across farmyards and fields so I can see the girls. That means a 21" front - that means an R, not an S.

It's a percentage game...I'm sure a man of your talent could cope with an S for the occasions through Farmyards and fields....tarmac is where you'll be most.
The S is still £15-16k new??
I balked at the £13.6k the Trumpet cost.

crazy numbers for a motorbike
Today, to work, due to road works, not exciting but it made me grin. :cheesy:
Today. A really pleasant commute including the coast road south of Anglesey.
Excellent. Weather next week looks positive too. :moto:
2000 miles since June.
A weekends riding in Southern Ireland...immense...650 miles :moto: :moto:
3 spluttering laps of Oulton to give my 7r a shakedown before packing it off to Cartagena...... hopefully just poorly set up carbs, so it's being dyno set up this week.
Sunday. Cheeky day out on the lanes.
Found a new "challenging" route linked to an old favourite.
Also rode the trail along the beach at West Bexington which was nice up until the bit where it merged with the shingle and became an exercise in just revving the nuts off it and trying to keep some momentum. Don't think the anglers were too impressed.

Col De Ratas, Altea and a spin around the Bernia Pass. Not too shabby.
Today. To work. And it rained.
Great fun. I don't know what's wrong with me.
At the weekend...Fort William base...Ullapool/Gairloch loop on Saturday...340+ miles on stunning roads and scenery.
Saturday for an hour, for a quick test on the Maxton modified forks on the SX. Front end is planted. Waiting for the shock to be returned as there was a small issue with that.
Just as the weather has turned too.
managed a nice 250 miles around north yorkshire, lancashire, cumbria & northumberland on the 10'th October, killed off the rear tyre on the VFR   , so it's packed up until next year now :(
good day out & an added bonus to have bumped in to tucker, chuggy, graeme & steve at the nook café near Alston, nice to have a catch up with them :cheesy:
GSXR is still good to go, but i think the weather is against us now, so i reckon the season is pretty much done for me
been a great season, looking forward to next year and euro trip with on the VFR along some of the guys off here and a couple of other mates
managed 3250 miles on the VFR since the end of May, so not to shabby a time on that and done around 2k on the GXR

Nice one. You're liking the Viffer.
Done just over 5k on the SX since July.
About 500 on the BGB all year, and a big fat Zero on the 6.
Must try harder.
Where you heading on your travels ?
today ont ktm, bit wintery out tho.
i have been reluctant to pull the blanket over the RS for the winter, but i think getting there.

yeah, loving the vifer, might be 18yo, but it goes & sounds well.. you need to work it like you do an older 600, so good fun
looking at doing the route des grande alpes down to the south of france then the route de napolean back and back acoss fronce to the tunnel, probably end of june early july.
good tour out for the Vifer, doing what it's meant to do. ;)
Yesterday. Had a wee blast to Gala. New Maxton shock fitted to SX. Damp roads in parts but the feel from the suspension is awesome.
Then took the ZRX out for an hour. Had rebuilt the rear wheel. New bearings and cush drive. Nothing fell off so all good.
Back on a bike in first time in ages. Was only the commute but great to be on the 6r again.
gonna be a scorching 17c here today
so i brought the RS into work with me :moto:
back from 3 days on track in Spain. Loved every second of it. I'm back out there next week and there's still lots of places available, unfortunately my bike had to come back because the trailer that took it out has to have exactly the same cargo on its return. I was hoping to leave it out there.
Squeezed a Catalunya in Septemer and an Almeria in a few weeks ago in October.... not its nearly leathers hung up until March time unless I can squeeze an end of November Almeria in :-)
If you get the chance - ride this place:
Into work yesterday, then to Falkirk - great run back home through Kincardine etc in the dark - quiet, dry roads and the 6r has decent enough headlights to keep a reasonable pace, was tempted to take an even longer route home, but it was already way past my bedtime.
Just done 3 days at Cartagena and stayed out with Anna for another week where we went out for a day with some friends on quad bikes.
They have some amazing trails in the hills here, the scenery was stunning and the quad bikes give you access to areas you wouldn't think possible.
It's a beautiful part of the world for sure.

Today. 170 odd miles around the Borders getting chased by a Panzer. Warmish today but there may not be any more chances to get out this year.
Maxton suspension gives so much feel. PR5's were excellent on the damp sections of road.

Yesterday. 135 miles. Bit cooler than the day before. This is at the Glen Cafe at St. Mary's Loch. A tree had fallen on the cafe during the recent storms. Hopefully the cafe will be open for the bike season. Good wee place to stop for a brew.
New Year's Day ride in to Sammy Miller's Motorcycle Museum.
Billy No-Mates so didn't hang about for long, then a nice ride back through the New Forest.
Must make the effort to actually visit the museum this year.
had a good blast on the ktm around local roads over xmas, i think was the 30th, got up to 16c whatever day it was, was very much needed!
even came into work yesterday on the bike, but was about 1c, bloody freezing
the RS still has its blankey on, and will remain that way until temps rise a bit

What ya getting mista ? KTM ?
Yes. I hit the dealer with a post Xmas offer £2550 below rrp (expecting to be told to do one) and he took it on a bike they have in stock. Not my first colour choice (orange, not grey) but I will now ride a 2021 KTM Super Adventure S with Tech Pack and heated seat / grips. The Triumph was excellent but a bit too off-road focused and seriously lacked the grunt I'm used to. Gone back to 160bhp from 90bhp again!!

Will an adventure bikes biggest adventure be going to the dealers ? Or will it get used as it should ? 🤔
It's an S. It will do 99% of its work on the road - the environment it was designed for.
Yesterday, day looked good, needed to do a wee bit shopping, so headed up to St Andrews on the big bike - the rain threatening just after leaving out street. Good run up not too cold, not too windy.
The way back the rain started in earnest and the wind picked up again, but not too bad, just good to be on the bike again :)
Saturday, got an invite to the Ruroc Atlas 4.0 demo day at the Bike Shed in London so took the bike, bonus is though that I also won a new helmet so all in all a very good day, bike was bloody brilliant too
