Ive done 3 TDs this year with 1 more booked for sept at brands and maybe 1 more after that....is it worthwhile getting a spare set of rims with wets on? I did silverstone in the pouring rain and almost lost it a few times despite being in novice!
Any seasoned TDers with some input?
Riding on wets is a totally different experience to doing a track day in the dry. It's not quite as much fun but I still really enjoy it. A set of WOW can turn a wash out into a good day.
A set of wheels usually hold their money quite well, I think it's definitely worth it
Wouldn't say I'm all that seasoned, but I got a set of metzler wets this year on spare wheels, I have used them for 3 sessions at Anglesey and those sessions alone paid them off in my mind. They work so well it's unbelievable, so much feel and grip. If you can afford them, they're worth having as it makes a wet day as much fun as a dry day.
