can a motorbike fail an MOT with a broken number plate light? i know on a car it can, but wasnt sure about bike
the R&G tail tidy came with one, but i discovered last night it wasnt working
the standard number plate hanger didn't even have one, so clearly its not essential to have one.
to be on the safe side i removed the light and placed a reflector in its place
wasn't sure if it was a case of if its there it needs to work? or if it would have even mattered?
interested to know
thanks
I'm no expert but i would have thought so

Yes, the plate needs illuminating for a regular MOT either from the tail light of a bespoke one.
Someone fitted a really nice white LED one to the tail tidy om my bike before I bought it
Looks very much like this

If it is there it needs to work as a rule I believe but big gav is your man.
You can find him on facebook if he hasn't registered yet.
general rule of thumb is, if it's fitted it's got to work...
If its a daytime mot no...if its a regular mot yes
It passed :afro:
Class 1 and 2 do not require a number plate light.
