Shame, nice little track.
All sorts of arguments on FB about why it has happened - Landlords putting up rent leading to circuit trying to operate too many days vs. rampant nimbyism.

Far from it ... Mallorys operators have categorically ignored the 1985 accord and done whatever they like with no regard for the terms of their operating license - now they've finally been dragged into court they all look a bit stupid and were keen to negotiate-- too little too late.

Sad day in this age of supposed economic growth when the powers that be can't negotiate an increase in allowances to keep the business viable
Bad for the employees, but i feel nothing about it closing. It's behind the times and tinpot compared to the rest.

Back in the day in provided an invaluable service to club racers like me, where you could test there on a Wednesday afternoon for not a lot of money.... couldn't give a shit about the bells & whistles, it represents that link between grass roots racing and top national level and I'm sad to see it in this situation.
I've got some fantastic memories of the place..... like the time I <goes off on one reminiscing about the good old days>............
Quack

"Mallory Park (Motorsport) Limited enters administration
As you may be aware Mallory Park, motor racing circuit, home to Midlands motor racing, has faced a series of difficulties in recent months to which it has regrettably been unable to reach a solution with local residents, the council and the landlord. As such, it entered into administration on Monday 30 September 2013.
Ian Robert, a partner at Kingston Smith & Partners LLP, the corporate recovery arm of accountancy firm Kingston Smith LLP, was appointed Administrator. Ian said: "I will be working with all the stakeholders to ensure that Mallory Park will see racing again. I hope the administration process can assist in finding a solution which will be beneficial to all parties concerned."
He continued: "To that end, I will be negotiating with the landlord and the council, with the support of the BARC, to ensure that racing can be enjoyed at MP for years to come. Although it is early days, I am hopeful that, once a solution to the lease is found, all of the company's creditors should receive a substantial dividend, which I understand is very much the driving force behind the continued support of the BARC."
On behalf of Mallory Park, Kingston Smith & Partners thanks you for your continued support. The circuit is temporarily closed but we are working toward reopening quickly. Please return to this page for further information, which will be updated regularly."
ah that's good for them then, not closed for long.

I deal with administrators regularly - they will be after a quick cash sale of any/all assets IMO
shame as i liked the grass roots nature of mallory.. same with lydden too...
Tell you one thing though..... it would make a belting development site..... nice new estate of family houses bordering a lake, they'd shift like hot cakes.
hmmmmm..... I smell a rodent

either way, it's rotten I tell ya!!!
Never been high on my List of Tracks but still have some great memories of the place so a bit of a shame to hear
Housing estate i suspect is its next destination
meh.
circuit of wales should compensate for the loss off mallory.
I think these little provincial circuits are under rated and under used. My view is that they should come under the same protection as any other recreational green space.
You want quiet?..... live somewhere else!!
Agreed.
Have to bite my tongue with a big Client of ours who lives in Castle Combe village.

Bang on matey, while not the best track in the world it's fun and has provided a good start for many and a living for a lot of folk. I also have good memories of Mallory. The fact that facilities like these are being losed down due to now comer nimbies (and yes I am aware of the issues caused by the current manager) shouldn't be allowed, also this situation should never have got to this.
The New circuit in Wales will hopefully be good but it's in no way a replacement to Mallory. This isn't the first track to be lost and won't be the last if we all just accept it.
Ok I'll shut up now but whatever you personally think of a circuit they are ALL important!!!
I have mixed memories of Mallory, but I will miss it. My claim to fame ..... I was the 100th rider to fall at edwinas I did a track day after the famous BSB crash fest the weekend before. Never went back until three years ago and thought it was fantastic, got rid of my edwinas ghost, a great day apart from an idiot who had a go at me because I had been passing him all day but on the penultimate session I decided to back off, he went past me, but on the last session I got past him at Gerard's he tried to catch up and went flying past me at the hairpin and missed his breaking point, he reckoned it was my fault cos I got past him half a track away.......... Idiot. He came if btw
A nice little village, near major road links in rural Leicestershire within commuting distance of Leicester, Derby and Nottingham or an 80 minute train ride to London....
The Estate Agent brochure almost writes itself....

you missed out "Lively sense of community and proactive local action groups." :|
The more I read about this situation, the more I think it's the current operators looking for a way out.............
there's so much doom mongering about it, but i can't help but feel optomistic that the landowner wants it to continue as a track but wanted the leaseholder out so they could persue it in a different manner....
but as normal i'm probably WAAAAAY off the mark!
It seems a shame that, as has been mentioned, the history surrounded some of these older UK grass roots motorsport locations, cannot be recognised by their "heritage" value and as a result, they should be kept and operated for exactly that reason.
I'd only want to buy a house there if they kept the track for the exclusive use ofthe residents ;)
