Title: Street triple exhaust options..
Post by: Farmer Giles on October 25, 2013, 12:53:49 PM
Hi, going to look at a 2010 Street Triple this weekend but I'm stuggling to see past those goping, standard exhaust cans..

been looking at alternatives but even the carbon underseat replacements seem to be just as big and I can't make my mind up on the Arrow 'low boy' design and that's a complete system at around £900 as opposed to a couple of end cans

the best I've seen as some MotoGP style underseat cans, Danmoto I think. They looks good 'cause they are slim but guessing they will be pretty loud even with DB killers in and they are from the US so likey to get stung for importing them on top of the asking price..

I know there are plenty of owners / ex owners on here so looking for options / opinions and pics of different set up if possible..

thanks

Martyn

Favourties are the SP engineering Carbon low exit or the twin underseat big bore' from the same company..

any pics ?

Thinking they need to be black or carbon to hide them a bit if I maintain the underseat option..

They do..

http://www.sc-project.com/triumph_street_triple_2012_photogallery_full_system_gp_m2.htm

It's a full system only but that's the best looking one I've seen...  Low exit but the can follows the line of the bike rather than just poking out the bottom of the belly pan at a weird angle..

just need to justify 840 euro plus a filter, PC and dyno time to set it all up....

my favorite 'high level' option are these..  mostly because they are the smallest diameter one's I've found and they are 'tucked in' under the seat unit..

I have the lowboy on mine , lovely sound , and imo great looks over the under seat set up.
Avoid the dannmotos, a mate of mine got them and are far to loud ,even with baffles in

Fitting a "normal" system - as opposed to the under seat version - makes the bike look so much better imho.

what about ixil end pipes, dont know if they are on option on the striple but just a sugestion.

got them on mine and they are very tidy looking, nice note from them without being too loud too.

Just a bit 'meh' on the looks of it.. Think I'm a traditional link pipe and end can man myself..  not so keen on the tapered style of it..  and the fact it's a full system also puts me off..

did you have to get the bike mapped for it ?  I imagine it's quite a lot free-er (is that even a word ??) flowing that the standard under seat set up..

Jono thanks for the pic..

I've read about the Danmotos being loud, not surprising when they are just an aerosol can with a chuffing great hole through the middle..      still look good though...

The Arrows are the best for size, looks and sound. Most other cans just look council IMO.
