I realise me on any bike is ridiculous due to my size but

I hope the guy in the picture is about 8 foot tall cause that looks teeny!

nope he's not, sat on one at the bike show, they are tiny.
Looks like the back end of the bike has fallen off

I left the wrapping of the back end so people could see how much it looks like donald duck's beak.

hurts my eyes just posting it......

that's one of the best looking bikes of the past 10 years, just before bike design went all 'transformers' with weird bits, slashes, panels everywhere etc.
it has a nice smooth line to it without being overly 916.
and the exhaust doesn't get ruined when it falls over.

so Donny were waiting for CoW to pay for Donny' track/circuit upgrades?  that sounds like Donny weren't in a position to offer the GP in the first place.  Or weren't willing to sign a guaranteed contract to do so.

Bike Talk / Re: Letting go of a sports bike

i've only ever owned a zx636, but part of the appeal of sportsbikes is that you are on a quest, climbing that uncompromising mountain, striving to get to the pinnacle of performance.  So you kinda buy into the philosophy, the marginal gains science that promises to make you 0.1% faster, the shiny parts, the motogp/wsb attitude.  You sacrifice comfort for it.   :moto:
The same happens with cars.
but like cars, there comes a point where you get old and comfort, MPG figures and the ability to hear radio4 creep up your priority list  ;)

i think that's why it's hard to give sports/superbikes up - it's not so much the bike - you have already decided to sell it - it's the 'quest' you are giving up

What about a phone based app, such as navfree or copilot?

i use an oxford stormex after the rainex kept ripping.  bought a stormex one size bigger than suggested and it's much better -- easier to put on without snagging, and enough spare that my cat doesn't stretch/tear it when he sits/sleeps on the bike.  thicker material too.
