Mechanical / Re: Replacement brake discs
November 18, 2018, 12:56:27 PM
Picked up a pair of discs and pads at the bike show yesterday with 20% show discount.

Still well expensive but eased the blow a bit. Got a job for next weekend now!

Mechanical / Replacement brake discs

So, other than the dealers (who are pretty crap) where's the best place to buy replacement brake disks & pads  for my Tuono V4?

Apparently, the current ones are warped which means that I must have improved my riding to GP standard over the years!

I did think that but it rides relatively well if I tape off the air intake to ritchen up the mixture...

Thanks GN - I've worked through the pipes from the carb back to the airbox (if you can call it that) and there all ok.

Probably should have mentioned that it's a 4 stroke, which might make it a bit easier. Wasn't sure if there was a relatively simple thing that I had missed before getting the carb off. Didn't know if it might be a split diaphragm or sticky float...

Mechanical / Engine fuelling woes
February 19, 2017, 06:38:31 PM
Looking for some advice on fixing the engine on my 125 vespa - it's been running well but after a quick blast down the bypass it's not very well...

It starts and idles without a problem but open the throttle and the engine dies.

It has got fuel, I've checked that. And there is fuel going into the carb (remember them?). It's definitely running lean when you open the throttle, I've been through and repaired a split air intake hose to the air filter but that hasn't helped.

If I restrict the air flow into the carb then it runs much better and pulls well but I don't think that riding it around with some gaffa tape over the air intake is really a proper fix.

Any ideas?

Not cheap but the best I have found  http://www.ultimateear.com/motorcyclist.php

No, no, no...

My experience of these people is spending months waiting for them to be delivered, they weren't right when they finally arrived and it took me weeks for someone to actually talk to me about the problems because, 'the managers are really busy you know...'

They finally admitted that the design was flawed and then told me there wasn't anything they could do about it. Wouldn't touch them with a large stick.

If you want good & expensive, try these people: http://acscustom.com/uk/

Bike Talk / Re: Ear Plugs - ANYONE USED THESE?????

I used to use foam ear plugs but got professionally moulded ear plugs made up 6 years ago by Ultimate Ear.

I got some done last year by these muppets, they used the wrong material for the plugs so they were worse than useless. Took 3 months for them to arrive because 'they had a lot of orders at the show', then when I complained that they didn't work they wouldn't return my calls or emails and when I did speak to someone (usually the receptionist) they told me that the managers were 'too busy' to speak to people.

Worse customer service than Ryanair - fucktards.

Bikes For Sale / Honda C90 (1989) - no MOT
November 16, 2014, 01:32:34 PM
Was running this regularly until it failed the MOT because of corrosion around the rear shock mount.

It goes, stops and turns as it should but sold 'as is' for spares or repair. Been sat in the garage gathering dust for a while and now could do with the space.

£300 & it's yours...

I even got a new rear tyre for the MOT to cope with the huge stress of the 7.5hp that's on there!
