Bike Talk / Re: S1000rr Dyno results

Update,,,
Had it done a couple of weeks ago. Now 215.2
Dave reckons 220 is achievable if he can have it for a week. I'm in two minds as to what effect 220 could have on the engine long term.

Cheers guys. It's taken a while and probably my last track bike.
I'm not a fan of the dayglo orange on the Smith's bike so opted for a red. In the sunlight it does go a bit more orange and really sparkles.

I'd like to see myself have an electric bike on track before I hang my leathers up.
But Cadwell park will have to get into this century first 🤣

Quote from: Maddog on November 15, 2019, 05:50:27 PMYeah DWR's dyno reads pretty truthful unlike a few that Ive seen results from. Does the bottom end feel better now?
I can't honestly say. The bike was limited to 9k revs. I took it for its first service and got it un locked, then straight to the Dyno.

As above. Plus he was pushed for time so only concentrated smoothing the lower end out. I'm sure that small top end gain was just literally adding the system.

It went from 197.1 to 198.5 and 87.7 to 90.5 on the torque.

I'm not a BHP fiend so not worried about that, that's all subjective anyway.
Just interested in getting the fueling right, which is pretty much spot on.

Had the full system fitted and mapped on the gen 4 at Dave Woods Racing.
Not too shabby, going back in February fresh from track day to fettle some more.
Engine was tight having only done 350 miles, where he said it should be over 200bhp when I go back.

If there was a cap then 150 to 160 would be more than enough on the road I reckon.

Thanks guys.
I bought it for the spec rather than the looks. Having only seen it in the flesh last month at catalunya I was unsure about it. There was 2 at the event one in road and one with fairings on. It looked much better tracked up but have to say that the standard trim is growing on me. Got 4 months before my next trackday so will post some more pics up with build.

Unsure what do do with the fairings ATM.
I'm leaning towards getting them dipped. Waiting on a price for that. Vinyl wrapping was too expensive I thought.
I can get them sprayed cheep but then what graphics to put on. Don't really want a race rep but if I did I'm favouring the Smith's.

Bike Talk / New Bike Day

Well not exactly as I got it two weeks ago and this is the only picture I have when I picked it up. Just not getting out coz of the weather.
Done 200 miles and chomping at the bit to get the running in done.
So far Iv'e got Titanium rad & Oil guards and track farings from Fima Racing, if you've not used them before they're worth a look. The quality and feel look good and a really good price for all the parts included. I can't comment on the fit yet as I'm not starting to until it's had the first service.

I've also contacted DWR as recommended on here, had a good chat and worked out a deal to supply, install a full system and map it.

The seating feels very similar to the Suzuki GSXR 1000 L7 but much sharper and lighter. As for power it's restricted atm, not that you'd know it on the road.

I still have the Suzuki which I'm looking to sell. There was no point trading it against the BMW, it was financial suicide. The Gixer has not fared well in the market and even selling I'll take a hit.

I was in the garage next to you at Catalunya, saw you plenty on track, well the back mostly when you went past.

Doh and you didnt come and say hello ?!

We could have done some on track video together :-)

You were out showing your mate around a few times I believe. If you were filming him then you might have me coming passed Lol
