Stupid question time

Quick question....today I was asked....."What is the braking surface height on the rotor ?" When trying to get some pads for AP Racing calipers with 320mm brembo discs........is this asking me what the thickness of the disc is? Or is it the contact patch size on the disc?

Not too sure, but I'd guess at the inner and outer radius of the disc?

So yeah, essentially the contact patch of the pad
