So yesterday was the first time I got chance to throw the leathers on and take the bike out for a proper ride.

First thing I found.... with a sports bike, I'm still fucking mental so I need to calm that shit down a bit.

Can't fault the handling, although that will probably change with time. The engine really is as flat as a fart. I suspect that the inners of the zorst have been removed and no mapping has been changed to compensate because it actually feels like a ginormous flat spot rather than the characteristics of a peaky engine.

Seems to pull strong enough when spinning though.

I'll ask a few questions on the MV Forum and see what they say.

At least the leathers fit (barely) and I can hustle on the thing. I didn't think I was riding particularly fast but I came up behind a chap in an Impreza on a straight and it caught me in the wrong gear and he, clearly up for it, fucked off, so rather than cog down I just let him go until the torque eventually kicked in.
This lead to a sequence of bends which I followed him through, quite quickly...... to the point that he waved me past.

Stopped further down the road with the adrenaline shakes..... not had them bad boys for ages!!......

On reflection, I need to calm the fuck down, but I love the bike.

Calm down pffffffft you ride the bike like it was ment to be ridden anything else I sacrilege! Well that's my excuse for over taking everything I see with extreme prejudice, glad to hear you fit in your leathers I dont haha, bout Tim you got out on her ,these Italian birds get temperamental if there not ridden regularly and properly!

there was a time I'd have vehemently agreed with you, but in my mid 40's and with the list of injuries and operations I've had at the hands of motorcycles resulting from bravery far exceeding talent...... and with a wife and 2 cats  to support...... sense and sensibility must prevail.

I'll still try and haul my fat ass around RAF Anglesey in a couple of weeks though, although both mind and body are considerably slower than back in the day.....
