laid up bike insurance

i have a few questions as dont want to pay for full insurance for the ducati over winter while its in my conservatory again
anyone used it?
who did you use for it?
how flexible is it, if i want to cancel and get bike back on the road
and any idea of cost compared to typical insurance?

Not used it myself but I would think that the saving isn't worth the hassle.

I know guys who road register their trials bikes because it makes the insurance cheaper than insuring them as an off-road only vehicle.

Presumably you'd have to cancel your normal insurance or cnut tax as I like to call it? Is there a charge for them to do that?

I'd never bother with lay up insurance personally but each to their own.

insurance runs out at the end of month and no plans to renew
but wasn't happy about not having any insurance at all as law of sod is some bugger will nick it
then discovered this laid up insurance existed
obviously it would need to be fairly flexible and cheap enough to worth the while

I looked at putting the 6 on just Fire and Theft insurance as I have sorned it this year. It was cheaper to keep it on the multi-bike policy, so I left it on that.
Fuck knows how they get their figures. Cunts.

I looked into it before , can't remember who it was with but was about £20 cheaper and alot of hassle

Just change the policy to TPFT, but I wouldn't expect it to be that much cheaper.
I guess the biggest risk to nice bikes is theft, and thats what you're still being covered for.

the ktm's insurance is up first week of oct, so maybe a multi bike policy is the way to go!
