What are people's views/reviews on non official tinted visors.
I'm looking for a dark xr1100 and £20 as opposed to double or more seems appealing but not if the quality/safety is overly compromised.
Cheers

I got a clear, light smoked and a dark smoked when I bought my hjc, and never use anything but the dark smoked, I very rarely ride at night but the few times I have it wasn't too bad for a short distance, if it was a long ride at night I would put the light smoked one on, but more often I just leave the dark one on, not sure what the police's view is but I have never been stopped.

Regularly use a dark tint on my XR1100 but if there is a chance of being out after dusk I carry a clear one as well, I would NEVER ride at night with a dark visor on same as I wounldn't wear sunglasses to drive at night just common sense really.

have always had tinted visors
i have no concerns over safety
just make sure i have a clear one with me if going to be out after dark
just avoid buying from Chinese ebay accounts, no knowing how well its made
have bought them all from http://www.racevisors.co.uk/

I bought a knock off one from ebay and it fitted poorly and wasn't of the same quality as the AGV one I subsequently bought. Pay full price and get one made for the helmet.

Personally only ever buy manufacturer visors. Quality is that much better for me the money is worth it.

Cheers, it was the quality aspect rather than the practicalities of a dark visor I was looking for. I'll ask the better half for a Shoei for my birthday. Thanks.

OE for me too only did it once and it was crap

Yep same here..  Bought a 'cheap' dark visor for my OGK lid and it never fitted properly so I ended up buying an OE one for twice the price. at least you know what you're getting with OE stuff..
