Just bought myself a shiny new Drift camera but don't know where to mount it... I've got extra sticky pads to put on helmet and maybe fairing. Also got a suction cup mount, anyone know how strong the suction is? I don't want to put it on the side fairing only for it to come off...

They won't let you mount it on your lid on Trackdays, or use the suction cup. And I'd doubt the hire bikes will let you use stick on mounts on their bikes.

They *may* let you use the suction mount with a load of gaffer tape but at the discretion of the track Marshalls.

What about a chest harness?... I'm going to be using it on the road more anyway, thinking suction on the tank as it won't be as windy... Maybe... Think I'll just have to have trial runs with it different places to find the place I'm happiest with.

MSV tracks will say no (had my chest mount taken off me at snett)

On the road anything you like, I like the chest mount view but also mounting the cam on the nose or tail...

Hope you have more luck with he drift hd than I had with mine. Mine kept shutting off mid session but suspect I had a dodgy one. got a gopro now.

As said helmet mounts are a not allowed on trackdays. Suction mounts seem to be ok providing you have a tie line on them as well so if they do come unstuck they stay with the bike.

If your on the road then helmet mount would be ok I suppose.

On my trackbike I made a bracket and mounted it on the wing mirror mount for forward facing and also stuck a mount on the rear seat fairing to allow forward or backward view.

Oh right, I've only really heard good things but I will watch out for that. Wing mirror mount sounds like a good idea for when I get round to getting my own track bike. I guess I'll have to make do with no recording on a hired track bike, even more reason to get my own!
