I live on Nell Lane in one of the new build houses opposite the Withington Community Hospital, I'm about 50m from the BMC church. I have frequented the violet hour a couple of times, as have I the Metropolitan. The Violet Hour is really nice, the Met is often full of arseholes (Iain, present company excluded of course) but certainly not rough and a lovely pub nonetheless! The whole area is a brilliant place for drinking and merriment.

I'm a planning consultant Dan. Moved up to Manchester from Cheltenham in December last year. I'm well aware of architect's views on planners (on either side of the public / private fence) and judging by your previous posts concerning planning matters I assume you have very little requirement for a planning consultant on most of your jobs. Regardless, lunch sounds like a top idea and I could do with a decent architect in my Filofax!

Iain, do you still have my number? give me a shout next time you're about, would be good to go for a beer.

I use them on almost all of my work, but I also work for them with my other business as a historic building consultant doing heritage assessments and impact statements.

We need to do lunch love.
